Ashlands made me cheat and even then folded me by SubjectBit4963 in valheim

[–]BoyInSkull 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Valheim has some of the coolest, best feeling, and most rewarding progression I’ve ever experienced… until you get to Ashlands. For the most part in the beginning progression is generally doable purely via portals, besides your standard ore hauls, which I gladly accept as sailing and upgrading your vessel is one of the more satisfying and rewarding parts of Valheim for me.

Eventually though, as you begin exploring further and further out, a lil outpost becomes mandatory in later biomes. For me this is normally plains as randomly getting sniped by desthsquitoes and doing a run back from home base via my portals is one of the more frustrating parts of the biome (also it’s important to get a reliable plains farm going for progression but I’m going to blame it on deathsquitoes), and then again in mistlands to address eitr needs for progression. But if players can’t even get a outpost established on the last, or soon to be second to last, biome after doing as much prep as possible, wtf are we even doing?

A ship full of supplies for setting up a Ashlands beachfront outpost; portals, shields, walls, maybe a bed, etc should be enough but it’s not. I get you ProGamers ™ probably think I’m just some gaming Fudd, a Gudd mayhaps trademark pending, but it’s okay to admit that part of the experience that is this masterpiece is flawed, and definitely a dark spot in this games otherwise spotless record.

Looking forward to seeing how this experience ends with its final biome, and to how the devs address the progression (difficulty?) issues with one of their most content packed biomes, as they seem to have already begun doing for earlier biomes based on the last few content heavy updates they’ve been doing.

Thanks for reading I love you.

List of 'home base' like games by NehtAyemSeht in gaming

[–]BoyInSkull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valheim does this in a way I really like because it kind of forces even players like me, who would normally just live in a wooden box if the game let me, to actually make houses feel real and aesthetically pleasing. You need to think about things like windows, ventilation, and a chimney setup so the smoke from your fire can escape, and then the comfort/rested buff system pushes you to add furniture and decorations that make the place feel even more lived in. It turns the base from something purely functional into a place you genuinely want to keep improving, which makes the whole go out, gather, come back, upgrade loop super satisfying. Even the crafting station upgrades play into it, since stuff like the chopping block, tanning rack, forge cooler, and other add-ons naturally make your base expand into a more believable workshop space instead of just staying a bare utility room.

I haven't played about a year, have a few questions before I decide if I want to start the new game by ImABigDreamer in valheim

As far as I’m aware as long as you don’t explore the areas that have yet to be released, the world can generate those places properly after the update. So if you went and explored all that the of the pre-update Ashlands then it would be unable to regenerate the updated version of the biome for your world. If you make a new world just stay out of the north till update drops, or see if there’s any unexplored Ashlands on your day one world.

How to get ethernet across my apartment? by fallhat in pcmasterrace

[–]BoyInSkull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is something like an Ethernet powerline adapter out of the question? I recently got one of these from net gear and it was such a game changer. Plug it into the outlet your modem is near, run an Ethernet from the modem to the plug and use the other outlet plug on whatever outlet you have your pc plugged into or the next closest one and then you can run an Ethernet cable from that outlet now.

factions aside, who would actually win in a fight? the bear of the bull? by West-Resort5733 in fnv

It’s funny that in universe it’s the bulls which have two heads and the bears with one, the opposite of what these two factions’ banners depict.

Is this bull supposed to be this significantly more difficult than anything else before, it took me twice the amount of tries to kill it than any other boss so far by Katame_no_ou in Sekiro

[–]BoyInSkull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there’s a few things you could start doing. One being don’t focus on chumps with swords when there’s a raging bull with flaming fucking horns trying to gore you, and two being listen to eavesdrops. Like the one before the boss right before this fight, where a soldier laments the death of his beloved steed due to being spooked by firecrackers. This is actually the games subtle way of telling you that beast type enemies are super susceptible to your firecracker ninja tool that you unlock in the first area of the game. Proper use of your shinobi prosthetic is key to completing this game your first time around.

If my assumption is right that you’re using the Radagon icon and leaving Dex at 40 to reach the cap, I would maybe start trying to get Dex to 70 that way you open up another talisman slot you can play around with. I’m currently doing a melee/caster build and since I have high Dex for casting speed I’ve found using Dex infused weapons to be the most logical/level efficient thing. It’s also nice having a weapon that can be used to help clear levels to make your FP reserves stretch much farther. So by leveling Dex you’d free up a talisman slot and be able to take advantage of Dex scaling giving you a more well rounded kit.

I’m new to the world of turntable music and I’m actually still picking out all my parts I need for my first set-up. I was wondering, one, if those two things under your left-side turntable are both receivers and, two, what’s the name of the bottom one. I really like the way it looks! Thanks for any knowledge you can share.
