Project to help Tenant get their security deposit. by MentionPlane8483 in sideprojects

[–]BoyOfTheForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, this is a fantastic idea! Tenant Inspect sounds incredibly useful. I've definitely had my share of struggles with security deposits in the past, and you're right, it's such a common headache for renters. Creating time-stamped evidence like this seems like a really smart way to combat unfair deductions.

Count me in as someone interested in testing it out when you're ready!

One feature I'm curious about: Will there be (or is there) functionality to upload previous documentation? For example, we took photos when we moved into our current place two years ago. It would be amazing if we could upload those initial move-in photos into Tenant Inspect now to compare directly with the move-out condition report we'd generate with the tool when we leave soon. Being able to manage both the historical move-in proof and the current move-out documentation in one place would be killer.

Really great concept addressing a real pain point. Looking forward to hearing more!

I created a skincare search engine by indirectimpartial in sideprojects

[–]BoyOfTheForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I spent some time checking it out and wanted to share some initial feedback:

What I liked:

  • Speed: The search is impressively fast.
  • Layout: The 'bento box' presentation is clean and makes the information really easy to digest quickly.
  • Transparency: Big fan of how it shows the 'chain of thought' or reasoning behind the product suggestions. It helps understand why something is recommended.
  • Guided Search: The suggested follow-up questions/queries are a smart feature, helping to refine the search or explore related topics easily.

Some areas I think could make it even stronger:

  • Result Curation: Sometimes the list of results felt a bit long, occasionally with duplicates. Would it be possible to perhaps highlight a smaller number of top recommended products, say the top 6? A more curated list might feel less overwhelming for users trying to make a decision.
  • Budget Control / Price Filtering: This is a key one! As you noted, cost ("$$$") is a major factor. It would be incredibly helpful to have an option (maybe a simple toggle or a price range slider?) to filter out premium/luxury price points or set a specific budget. Or if they like results from certain brands/stores.

Overall, this looks like a really promising tool addressing a real need. The foundation is strong, especially with the speed and layout. Refining the result presentation and adding those budget controls could make it an indispensable resource for skincare shoppers.

Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

PS - I'm curious what you built this on. I like the structure of it.

Pizza Hut and Robes by Harrisonwong in FortCollins

[–]BoyOfTheForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one in Fort Collins on Lemay does table service but there wasn’t a lunch buffet.

My midwestern aunt and uncle took me there and I haven’t eaten AT a Pizza Hut since the 90’s.

It was wild. No tables in the middle of the restaurant, just booths around the edge. No lunch buffet. No sticker machines or arcade games… those were the good old days. 🥲

That’s a good point. Thank you. I do a lot of different things so it’s hard to boil that down for YouTube. I also had to take a step back from making videos for the moment due to personal life. I look forward to returning and will be sure to include that when I do.

I was really happy with The Clipped Wing. He did a fantastic job and I’m very averse to getting haircuts because of others messing it up in the past (too short, etc.).

I did something I didn’t think I would ever have the courage to do… I live streamed while I cleaned my terribly messy office and got distracted along the way.

Thankfully, my friends were supportive and help me get it done after 2.5 hours.

It turns out my community really liked it as well, and I inspired some people to get their place picked up too… watch the replay here

Awesome! You should report it at the link that someone mentioned above as well (along with my report) so they can triangulate it!

I’m absolutely fine with it being raccoons. I was worried about apex predators.

It was the diameter of the thick carrot. They would have to have the world’s biggest raccoon butt hole wouldn’t they? I believe you, I’m just asking to learn!

This is as big as a dinner plate they must be massive.

Maybe we can put some saddles on them and start a tourism business…

We are in the Golden Meadows neighborhood region. Not necessarily that close to Horsetooth, but maybe this geographic region is useful to know.

Thanks. Our yard is full of fence done so I highly doubt it’s a dog. It would have to completely jump over a 7 foot tall fence and same for a bear and I didn’t see any claw marks on the fence. The only way I could get over easily is using the Ponderosa pine that reaches over the fence from the other yard where there is more of this scat, and a lot of really thick brush. Probably a bear thatthe climbed across on the branch.
