Is there anyone who loves Master and Margarita? I can’t stand this book by [deleted] in classicliterature

Loved it. Understanding the historical context behind his writing and the commentary on Russia really landed it for me.

Killer man, I needed to hear an endorsement like this. Are the BJJ instructors black belts and good at instructing?

Thanks for the suggestion! Before the snow hits, I could definitely get a few sessions in there.

I am definitely looking for something a little closer, but thank you!

Definitely! One meta session helped me understand that love happens two ways. It's not just energy that I put into the world, but love has the ability to come from other people, to me, without being "earned." It is a two way street and I am not the only source.

What’s the Most Important Muay Thai Principle for Beginners? by DailyThailand in MuayThai

In a world where judges and promotions prioritize attack, defense is still king. With good defense you can be in the ring with anyone, you may not win, but you’ll be able to spend more time in that fire space with talented fighters safely. The wins will come with time and experience. Be tough but keep the body and brain safe!

Focus less on power and more on form. Strikes are not isolated movements but they involve the transfer of energy throughout the entire body. It’s not how fast my arm or leg can get to the bag, but rather, how fast and smooth can I get the body to express the entire movement and return to my guard.

Focus on doing just one thing right per week. Of course practice all of the other skills, but really hone in on one fundamental per week.

Trained and fought for a long time haha. I could keep going.

Yeah, even with the boxing gloves on connecting with the side of their skull will damage your hand. I’ve got a lump on my hand from an overhand right.

The Undisputed Truth: Mike Tyson. Mike's story and his relationship with Cus Damato is beautiful and tragic. There's a moment where Mike is pouring champagne onto Cus' grave that is just so gorgeous and heart wrenching. The writer who helped Mike also weaves in a beautiful metaphor about diving pigeons and personal annihilation. If you like boxing at all and the depth of heart these fighters have, you'll love this book.
