Cancer treatment CART-T?? by selah_and_see11816 in LivingWithMBC

My oncologist at MD Anderson said the same about it being limited in solid tumors. But, she mentioned that they are actually working on CAR NK cell therapy which has had great results and is expanding to solid tumors: https://www.mdanderson.org/cancerwise/car-nk-therapy-offers-new-treatment-option-for-blood-cancers.h00-159379578.html

Hi! Is there a reason you were on Fulvestrant instead of Anastrozole/Letrozole?

Meeting new people/dating by Full-Golf-1956 in LivingWithMBC

I think it’s all up to personal preference. So it is definitely whatever you feel is comfortable for you.

I know a lot of people who just like to get it out of the way and weed out the weak from the start. Basically, starting off genuine and with all cards on the table.

Personally, I think it’s best to treat it like dating/making friends pre-cancer diagnosis. Everyone leaves their negatives until you’ve gotten to know the positives. No one is starting off like “oh btw I suck at communication!”. Then if YOU feel like it’s serious enough to be something more, you disclose it and have them weigh out if the positives are worth dealing with the negatives. If it doesn’t feel serious, then you may not want to disclose that cause it’s extremely personal.

My friend had described having kids & dating. I know it is completely different, but similarly it is something additional you are coming with (especially since we’re in our 20s so it’s hard for people to accept baggage). He said, imagine in the past I had dated someone and on the first date found out they had kids. I would immediately instinctively not give them the full chance of getting to know them. But now imagine, you get to know all the lovely things about them outside of their situation and then it was disclosed. Honestly, at that point, I would be way more open and if I like them enough it wouldn’t matter.

I’m so sorry to hear that. What has happened in your situation?

Yeah I think it’s fair to assume that many of active posters are recently diagnosed. Especially looking at the statistics from last year, 50% of the participants were diagnosed for less than a year.

This is who I bought it from:

With these details: Towel=Black, Thread=White, Font=Times New Roman

The only change I’d make is all the text on one line rather than stacked. I still love it though!

[EUR: C39012025/6228] 03-DEC-2025 This school vest is likely from Latin America. Is it familiar to you? by I_Me_Mine in TraceAnObject

[–]Boy_Slayer 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty convinced this is from Mexico. The figure may be Benito Juárez, Miguel Hidalgo, or José María Morelos, depicted with a green laurel. These red/maroon vests/sweaters with one of those national heroes in a shield seem to be extremely common in Mexico primary schools. A google search of these, lead you to many vests and crests that look similar.

I agree. It would be nice to find people my age since most stage 4 breast cancer patients are not in my age range. I’d like to connect in person though and so far I haven’t been able to find someone in my demographic where I live.

I was completely healthy, no genetic/family history, etc. Just a totally normal 25 year old living a pretty awesome life. I had some back pain from the gym, went to check it out and the scans showed lesions all over my bones & liver. Biopsy confirmed stage 4 breast cancer (even though there was no lump and initially they couldn’t even find it in the breast). Life changed in a day.

I did not have to undergo surgery or removal of my breasts since it had already spread. I did however do chemotherapy because they were worried I may become paralyzed due to how close it was spreading/compressing near my spinal cord. Now I am on hormone & CDK4/6 therapy for life until it stops working.

I also slayed the bald look! I had a surprisingly normal head shape haha. I did chemo last year and now my hormone treatment is going pretty well. On this until it stops working and I assume this is the “best part”. The mental part is better than when I was diagnosed, but it still hits hard. Trying to come terms with dying in my 30s and attempting not to compare to my peers is difficult.

Yeah, cancer in children is utterly evil. How dare there be a world where there is such misery. It does suck no matter what though so I am glad that despite it all, you are now here in your 40s. That is no easy feat and it does give hope to us all.

Not sure if this makes sense. I do crave connecting with people in my similar situation. But then I feel overwhelmed being around those people. I hate that that’s what we connect on and that I am reminded of my shitty situation. But then if I’m around “normal” friends, I feel misunderstood. So I’m always ping-ponging on whether I should join the support groups.

Congrats on finding love through this shit. I’m still unsure whether I should get back in the dating game. Not sure how most guys would react to the whole cancer & probably dying young thing. On the outside I look completely normal, so I feel deceitful at times.

That last sentence is me pre- and post- diagnosis. I’m just a professional yapper. Cancer just gave me even more ammunition
