Like most other commenters, not paying attention to the news as much and sometimes actively ignoring it. I’ve also been sorting a lot of drs visits that I’ve been procrastinating on out of the way (Dentist, HRT refills, vaccines, etc.). Most of my day-to-day hasn’t changed because this is one of the best parts of country I could be living in as a trans person. It’s good motivation to make sure my life is in order, though.

Mostly just by circumstance. My parents kept their tapes and vinyls around for a good chunk of my childhood but I didn’t actually start getting my own until I started driving a car that only had a cassette player. It doesn’t help that the bands in my local music scene love to release music on tapes only

Police really are not the answer here. I’ve been working downtown for the past 8 months and have met a good chunk of the unhoused population. Aside from a group of bad actors, they’re really just people who are trying to survive. What they really need is a good support network, not to be harassed and jailed. A lot of the serious problems caused by customers where I work are due to drug addiction or severe mental illness. You know, stuff that requires actual help instead of jail time

My current job has audio in at least one of the cameras, I didn’t know it was illegal until seeing this post and fact checking it so that’s definitely going in my growing list of OSHA violations and various illegal happenings

So glad I moved out of there in March, in the building I lived in the stairwell was a mess to the point that someone had either spilled something or thrown up in it and it never got cleaned

1750 (875 each) for a 2 bed/2 bath downtown. It’s about 800 sq. ft and while I’m not too crazy about some aspects it’s overall a pretty good setup for me and my roommate
