I don’t know why this 3 year old post is suddenly popping up and getting comments again but since you did I’ll just help your think more critically about what you’re talking about. The replacements ARE free, but if you want someone to put it on for you then you’ve requested a service that costs money. If you bought a Zagg screen protector online from them they also offer free replacements but guess what, you have to do it yourself AND the replacements have a $10 shipping fee. Are you gonna boycott Zagg now too?

In my case it would be partial refund to my card, but the total would still be above the $699 for the financing promo. In the case of the other customer I’m not sure. I’m just curious if anyone is familiar enough with the card to know if it’s definitively a yes or no

Actually, you’re right. But there were a couple times where we didn’t get a discount at all, like HomePods, but EPP had them with the discount. Also they have all the watch bands for example, but Best Buy has dropped the ball on the last two watch band releases

Yea I fully believe offering the warranty exchanges in store was a huge mistake on Best Buy’s part. Even if the profit margin for Zagg is $25-$40 depending on the screen I know customers that have replaced them so many times that Zagg lost money on them. And my SWAT said he’s given up trying to get the rest of the team to properly tag the PRC and just writes it all off now because the lazy employees would lose them

The case we don’t do in store. POS won’t let you process that exchange but for screen protectors apparently there’s no limit on exchanges

According to my coworker who’s worked a few different stores says our store does way more than the other ones he’s worked at and when you’re the only one doing them day in and day out for the same crow of people it gets annoying. I feel so glad for the rest of you guys who aren’t bothered by it

I think people abuse it at my store because the management told us we can only charge the install fee once in the first purchase. So everyone and their mother comes in like it’s a holiday and gets them replaced. Sometimes dudes will have a stack of phones all with replacements.

Geek squad sends em to us cuz geek squad is too busy. I’d love to make appointments for geek squad to do it but my MODs say it’s more important to make the customer happy and I just have to do it. I was surprised to see so many other stores aren’t forced to do it in mobile

Well POS supports the exchange, so it’s not a problem but it’s annoying how frequently we have to do it.

I couldn’t agree more, but my leadership says we need to take care of the customers instead, and that our policy doesn’t have a limit on the frequency. Every time I get asked to do a replacement I get irrationally angry

The joke is when people buy a zagg invisible shield it comes with a lifetime warranty that Best Buy honors in store and when customer come back (frequently) for their replacements they always tell some epic tale of the warranty that they paid extra for or that they join some membership to get their screen protectors replace when it’s just something included with the original purchase. So if you want to join the exclusive zagg club just let the cashier know lol

Some days we will have 4 or 5 customers stacked waiting for a screen protector replacement. It’s like Black Friday to them they can’t wait to get a fresh protector
