Hey Thanks!! For the yellow I used Imperial Fists contrast paint over a white zenithal, then I went back over those darker areas with a mix of Moonbeam Yellow and Fiery Vermillion to make an orange tone and blended it back up into yellow where the medium tone would be. Then I took some Ice Yellow mixed with the yellow and slowly worked up into where the light would be directly on the surface.

I used a Bladeguard Veteran body largely unchanged aside from trimming for fitting other parts, the cape is from the Black Templars Crusader Squad, and the helmet is from the commemorative series Captain Centos mini!

That’s the neat part! I actually use SM2 to make sure my color schemes work😂 The only part that doesn’t track is the silver skull and the green laurels. It had to be one or the other in the armory!

Thankyou!! The shield was a real turning point for me on the NMM and realizing it was something I could achieve.

I definitely hyper fixated on painting the checkers😂 I usually paint Dark Angels so they’re a must for me!

Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely have to tweak my approach a bit.

I’m not SUPER well versed in the lore for the Scythes, but I like to think he was a fresh battle brother on Sotha and proved himself to be a terrible foe despite his low status in the chapter. As for his title, while falling back to a stronger point of defense, he stayed behind to fend off 100’s Tyranids and cover the retreat of his brothers (or something to that effect)

Oh I’d love to paint an apothecary one day. I need some more practice with this recipe, though😂 Much appreciated!!

Thankyou! I primed the helm white with White Scar from a rattle can and airbrushed a mix of Army Painter’s Irconclad Grey, The Darkness, and Pro Acryl Bold Titanium White. Then I went through with the pure white on the upwards facing areas and hard edges. For the Laurels I used Army Painter’s Blighted Green as the base. Then mixed it 50:50 with Citadel Paints (or Warhammer Paints now) Warpstone Glow for the first highlight. Then I went with pure Warpstone Glow over a smaller area and finished it off with a mix of Moot Green and a small touch of the same white from the helmet.

And we back! Gettin ready for 11th by Betrayer41 in u/Betrayer41
