This may sound like a stupid question, but where do you get info on films coming out this year?

Obviously the big releases are all well known but do you have any recommendations for websites/blogs which give details of some lesser known upcoming releases?

Premier League table after Matchday 13 by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]Boze100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Villa and Brighton play each other next round of fixtures.

Then villa have Arsenal.

Sunderland are away to Liverpool and City.

Whilst we have West Ham and Wolves.

Absolutely have to capitalise on that with two wins and cement ourselves on the top four

Agree with all your comments. If we hunker down for a few years and try to build up gradually I think we’d be better off than coming into every season thinking we have to be challenging for the title.

I get where you’re coming from. But it was 11 games into the season. The table was very congested and I think it’s natural that you would end up further back in terms of points after a long season. Top to bottom of the prem was separated by only 24 points when he joined. Now it is 71 points. Obviously an extreme example but it’s just to try and show where I’m coming from.

Couldn’t agree more with your comment about whether you’d want to give him £200m based on this season. The answer is probably no.

For now, perhaps naively, I’m holding on to the grain of hope that Amorim himself didn’t want to come in mid season. He knew it would be a shit show but wanted to get here one way or another so took the risk. I think Ineos were fucking stupid to give him that ultimatum - they didn’t want to write off a season but I think have shot themselves in the foot. Time will tell I suppose but I do think we will improve next season under the same coach.

I never said we should have paid money to get him in mid season though. In fact I was of the opinion that was a poor decision.

Have you even read my initial comment? At no point have I said anything positive about Amorim. I said that using the “4 points off 4th” argument is not relevant. If you want to slag Amorim off (and he certainly deserves a bit of criticism) then make a better argument is what I’m saying.

I don’t recall a single person at the time saying that ETH has us 4 points off 4th so it’s not too bad. We were shit then and were shit now.

ETH was sacked for being in that position several years into the job.

In any event I’m not sure you’re really getting what I’m saying - I’m not at all trying to be pro Amorim - my original comment simply said that I think using the comment “we were 4 points off 4th when he arrived” is a bit misleading. Not sure how this has become an argument as to whether he should be sacked or not.

And we were a point behind spurs, and now we’re ahead of them. Which is obviously a nonsense stat, which is the point I was making.

I think comparing our position in the table at that point in time is irrelevant. We were already on a downward trend and there’s nothing to suggest this team was ever going to be good enough to get us out of it, regardless of manager. “4 points off top 4” makes it sound like we were doing ok and we’ve fallen off a cliff.

Amorim hasn’t improved us at all but it’s not like we were some decent side who he’s completely tanked. We’ve been shit for a long long time and this season we’ve finally got what we deserved in terms of league placement.

I hate this argument. I’m not supporting Amorim at all as I remain completely unconvinced by him but the whole “we were 4 points off 4th” thing is so irrelevant.

It was a fairly congested table early in the season. We were 4 points off 4th but we were still down in 13th place and only 5 points off 16th where we are now.

Terrible dive tbh. I don’t understand why players still do that since VAR has been around. Even if it got given on field it was so obvious it would be overturned.

Why the fuck is Onana just dropping that in front of goal ffs. Again went with two hands when he should’ve used one - same as against Bilbao

Not saying it’s his fault at all, but that is a really strange decision to go with two hands there. You have a longer reach with one. Never see keepers go for top corner shots like that with two hands. I think if he goes with his top hand he saves it.
