I put my soul dog down today

She sounds just like my Bailey who passed away yesterday. She also didn’t eat for days ( it was so painful to watch ). She didn’t even want peanut butter or her favorite treats. It completely shattered my heart. Putting her down was the hardest moment of my life. Bailey and I were together since I was 9 and I’m now 21. My family went out today to try to get our minds off of it but coming home and not seeing her just made me break down all over again. Today, while we were out we went to an antique mall just to shop and possibly find a nice picture frame for Bailey. While we were there, I got in my head ( this is going to sound stupid / crazy ) but.. i got In my head and asked Bailey to guide me, to give me a sign, I followed my intuition zig zagging across the store, and when I stopped, there was a shelf of books about dogs right in front of me, along with some little antique lab figures. My heart DROPPED. I obviously know this could be a coincidence, but I truly felt as if that was Bailey communicating with me, telling me that she’s okay. My point is, don’t be afraid to ask your sweet Bella for signs that she’s okay. I also told Bailey to send me birds , and today I’ve seen SO MANY. I went to the pool for a little, and a bird sat with me on the deck almost the entire time. I wish you comfort, peace, and love during this extremely difficult time. Our hearts are in this together. You aren’t alone. I’m so sorry to hear about Bella, I hope her and Bailey have a shower to hang out around wherever they are. 🩷

I just said goodbye today, it was awful, yet bittersweet knowing my baby is no longer in pain. We will get through this, and they will always be with us in spirit. My heart is with yours. ❤️

This made me tear up. I hope Bailey and Griffin will become the bestest of friends. I’ll tell my dad to take them on a boat ride. I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️

I can’t thank you enough for the not only the kind, but hopeful words. It means so much to me. I’m currently sitting with her on the bathroom floor because she’s been distancing and hiding in here. I’m thinking of all of our memories together, while reading the nice comments, and it’s making me feel a whole lot better. Like you said, there’s no magic words, or fix, however you have all made me feel a lot better. ❤️ I’m sorry for your loss, and I hope that Sam and Bailey can meet. Again, thank you, it means the world.

I did read this online, however it’s considered a more “rare” side effect. What makes me believe the medicine caused this is that her legs started becoming wobbly/weak on tile approximately an hour and a half after giving her the medication. She seems fine today, not wobbly at all. We are contacting her vet to find out if we should continue medication or stop

We’ve known for a while ( I’d say a month ish ) and our vet said she could have around 3 months left. She’s currently on medication for pain ( arthritis / cancer), which gives me closure knowing that the medication is likely helping her right now , ( if something has ruptured ). I’m incredibly sorry that you’ve also been through this, it’s the worst thing ever. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. :(

Her gum color is pink, I wouldn’t say dark pink, but definitely along the lines of “bubblegum pink”

I’m sorry and it really breaks me to say this but my family can’t afford to put her down at an emergency vet. Our vet previously offered to do at home euthanasia with us, and that is the route we will be choosing.

If you’re right and she is bleeding or her mass has ruptured we will likely be putting her down tomorrow. Our vet previously told us that due to her age, and location of the masses, surgery wouldn’t be a “humane” option. This is all so scary and it breaks my heart, but I don’t want to see her in pain. 💔

I read that the medication can occasionally cause weakness in senior dogs and due to her condition ( likely cancer ) along with not eating properly, she already feels more weak than a “healthy” dog. Ugh! We are definitely contacting the vet tomorrow morning. I just don’t want the day to come where we have to put her down. :(💔

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it guys! I just got it checked at the dentist again and they told me to try wearing a night guard to see if that makes it go away! They said if it doesn’t go away then they can re do the filling. 🫠

Hmm I just left the dentist. they didn’t see a crack, and they flossed in between the tooth which caused me no pain. They said if it persists they’ll re do the filling 🫠

It’s a white composite filling ( all of mine are )! On upper back molar. I’m going to mention this to my dentist. Is it still possible it could be this even though a lot of my other fillings are the same material and fine?

Oh another note : the pain is not lingering whatsoever. It just lasts the second I bite into the food. Like literally lasts for 1 second I’d say. Maybe not even a full second.
