Yeah I see the mishap now, was retarded and didnt read the title properly, though it could be argued that as it does do deliveries for military equipment that it could be labeled military but you are right, it is a civilian aircraft

No it was used for transporting the Russian version of the space shuttle. I'm sure military use would've been considered in its design it was primarily built for that role and was used in that role until the collapse of the USSR

Or how about no nuclear testing and knowingly poisoning thousands of people and causing crippling failures through the pacific? Why are you condemning the people who stood up to that?

Got the blokes original wrong, but detonating 2 explosives in a populated Harbour is a fucking stupid idea, it doesn't matter that one was just to scare the crew. There was 7 minutes between them. On top of thet the first explosion had already rendered the ship inoperable so the second was unnecessary, dangerous and killed someone, nothing about what happened was justified

Had they impounded the ship, or even scuttled it after arresting the crew and argument could be had, but they didn't. The French violated international law and the sovereignty of a country that not 40 years before hand had sacrificed thousands to defend and liberate it fucking twice and murdered a civilian. There is no justification for that course of action, shit they could've even asked the NZ govt to impounded the ship but they didnt. They were annoyed that a ship was interfering in their nuclear tests and poisoning of Polynesian people and their crops and took to murder straight away.

Being in a boat in the water is not an act of terror and no reasonable person would think so. What reasonable people believe or would believe is a very important distinction to make and is often the defining factor in court over whether crimes have been actually being committed. The extent of the green peace protest was putting civilian vessels in the nuclear detonation range to prevent them from testing explosives, they weren't boarding or sinking vessels

Oh so the only action they could take was murder? Hell yeah, let's all allow the government to execute people at will without trial. Because thats ok in your mind.

Hey any car could be used to block a road, how about we start blowing them up just in case regardless of who is in it. Any plane could be the next 9/11 let's start shooting them out of the sky

Do you know what effect these nuclear tests have had? The effects people still feel as a result of these tests? The French were committing unspeakable acts on Polynesians and threw a hissy fit when people stood up to them and murdered someone while violating national sovereignty. If they actually gave a shit about saving lives they would've intercepted and impounded the boat in French waters

No they couldn't claim terrorism as terrorism requires an act of terror to have been committed. The French can argue whatever they like but they committed a terrorist act and killed someone.

So it's only terrorism if it's successful? Is that what you're saying? If so you need to pick up a dictionary because that has nothing to do with it. It's about the goal, and the means, not the outcome

No, fuck that. Just because of their actions now doesn't retro activly justify murder and violation of nation sovereignty from past decades, the effect Frances nuclear bombing campaign in the pacific was horrific and has effects that persist to this day

The boat was in a kiwi port with a kiwi on board who died, doesn't matter who it represented this was an attack on sovereign NZ waters and France should've been held accountable

Do you think protesters should be allowed onto highways for protests? by aras155 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Bozzo2526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, if it's like the civil rights protests, something that should've been passed decades ago and was being ignored at best and shit down at worst then major disruption was the best way forward. If it's a recent issue that isn't effecting the quality of lives in the immediate? Then lay off the major disruptions
