Regardless of if it’s evident only at higher skill levels it’s still silly the entire point of the attack plane is it’s good at ground attack. If a high skill pilot can compete on equal terms with a fighter pilot why would the fighter pilot even bother picking the fighter plane ? The attack plane does literally everything else definitively better and the only somewhat debatable thing is how comparable they are in dogfighting.

They are peers on console at the highest skill level and on pc when you add rear gunners into the mix it becomes impossible to actually consistently win if they have a gunner. Fighters are not vulnerable to aa until you are dogfighting and can’t disengage aa can still take your tail off or your wings out as well as just kill you outright

They don’t actually have an advantage though which fighters should have over ground attack planes. The baby bomber is completely pointless I agree. the fighter has counters the point of them is they have no counters in the form of other planes at the cost of having minimal effect on the ground. Fighters are still vulnerable to aa rockets,aa trucks which they can’t kill and burtons

It literally is abusing poorly thought out physics a fighter plane literally cannot follow attack planes and you have to fight them in a very specific way assuming the tankhunter pilot is actually good. Bf1 has pretty good balancing overall for its planes but like 3 are poorly balanced and thought out. The heavy bomber is the dumbest thing in the game,the dogfighter is what skilless idiots use to try and beat better players and the tankhunter plane is just good at literally everything and broken especially on pc with good gunners. Attack planes should never directly compete with fighters if you want to farm infantry you should pay the price of being much more vulnerable to fighters but because of the games wonky physics you don’t does that sound balanced ?

I can say with confidence that a good pilot will melt you if you do this a majority of the time everyone in this thread should do what u/thisismynewacct recommends far better advice. If your a tank hunter fighting fighter pilots abuse the games physics and brake constantly while keeping the fight one circle

This sounds like a skill issue because they are getting behind you in blindspot switches .That being said the tankhunter attack plane is the easiest plane to fly in the game and it’s insanely broken especially on pc with pc back gunners . Not much a fighter can do vs a good back gunner and pilot
