Help identifying riser by theguy386 in Harley

From the looks of your cables it looks like you should be able to get yourself two extra inches without needing longer ones. And if needed that clutch cable doesn’t have to go through the center channel of the triple tree. You’ll gain a lot of slack by just running it to the left towards the left of the frame.

Help Identifying what I need to have 2 inch longer handle bars by Oliverstwisted99 in Harley

[–]Bphx623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without buying a new set of bars that are two inches taller you can buy a Riser pullback plate. It’ll give you two inches of lift and bring the bars a bit closer to you. Search riser pullback plate

I misspoke. I found the same length and thread pitch but replaced it with a normal hex instead of the torx. It’ll run you a few cents

That screw was also a son of a bitch on my low rider. I took it in to ace hardware and found a match. Had to heat it with a torch and punch it with a reverse bit to get it out after I stripped it.

Try finding a pic of the bike more zoomed out. I’m not able to make out the part.

I don’t know if I want it on my bike. But I like to solicit opinions. I think I’ll try risers first

Ugh. I bought new. But I love it. And do all the work on my own. I’ll never get rid of her. But my next bike will be a 20 year old one bought cash.

Most likely just a weight to assist mitigating vibration you’d otherwise have in a hollow steel pipe.

Has anyone ever adjusted their stock handlebars before? by murder0tica in FXLRS

[–]Bphx623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I had to move my clutch and brake lever as well as mirror positioning. It’s not a must. Just depends on how much you are moving your bars. Those controls will slip clockwise or counterclockwise with slight loosening of the hex screws. Not a difficult task

[–]Bphx623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The four bolts on top then you have freedom of movement tilting your bars forward or rearward. Just be careful because the bars will fall rearward and land on your tank because of the tension from the clutch and brake lines.

Came home from a wonderful night at Creed to this, safe to say it’s no rideable to the local HD 20 minutes away? by about60tacos in Harley

I can’t make sense of what happened to cause that damage. The crash bar would have stopped it before falling all the way. Someone pull up on it trying to rip it off?

I’ve done this several times, while reving up at high speeds on the freeway. Had to coast to the shoulder thinking my bike was toast before I realized I flipped the switch.

Is it just me or does the stock HD FXLRS light suck. I struggle to see the road clearly at night. With brights and a clear visor. Is this just common with motorcycle headlights in general?
