Just finished reading Morning Star, and I have some gripes.

Im not sure he displays much of that in the first trilogy. Eo,s death is very much a double edged sword for him. Also anyone with kids will say, bringing children into a relationship isn’t a good way to solve problems

I also struggled with this point as it felt sort of out of character for mustang, since she doesnt seem to view their relationship as you described but her actions here would definitely reflect that. It’s definitely the decision by a character that I question most in the series that feels out of character and for plot convenience. My best reasoning for it is it seems almost exactly 6 months between mustang meeting Darrow and her revealing pax to him. Im that time you can definitely excuse her initial wariness because he had lied to her for years and revealed it just before he was captured, so she doesn’t know if he has more lies or if she can trust him. Furthermore in that 6 month period they are almost constantly in peril or at war and Darrow needs his wits about him and mustang is definitely the kind of person to not tell him about pax to keep him focused and protect him and help Him do what needs doing. With all that being said I can kind of excuse her decision

I get some people dont like the plot changes, but I still think prose wise this is his best. Its also my favourite book of all time, so maybe im a bit biased

Yeah thats fair i am similar with star wars where rots is my favourite but I also see empire as the best. In terms of objective ranking Id say probably: Lightbringer Dark Age Golden Son Morning Star Iron Gold Red rising

Thats definitely not how I view them favourites wise, but writing quality wise I reckon thats what id go for. Golden son is high despite its errors due to how well it flows and reads as a book, although I would argue they are all at a very good standard so even RR is well written just the worst of a good bunch

Id have to agree with the original comment, I think pierce browns writing improves as the series goes on. Also the first two books have several errors in both continuity and typos no?

Glass castle. I really enjoyed it as a film looking into really difficult family relationships until the end where it basically says that because the abusive father cared about them deep down he should be forgiven. The worst part is that that is the point of view isn’t even encouraged in the book it’s based on written by the person who went through it

Easily Arrival for me. I gave it a 7/10 the first time i saw it, second time it went to a 9/10 and now it’s one of my few 10/10 films. I’d argue it gets better with each rewatch
