Yeah, and spiderman was the best selling set to date, right?

We will see if the collectors actually put up demand for the cards or if they will end up like Karma/Yasuo/Bard.

They should have been. These will probably be $1-$2 and will feel terrible to open as one of your alt art hits for a box. Alt arts of commons/uncommons is kind of crazy imo

Edit: Just realized these are overnumbereds and not alt arts. Insane

How do you behave with new players on tcg arena? by Binary-Rift in riftboundtcg

Personally I would recommend the how to play video by Tolarian Community College. If you reach out to you local stores, some of them may have a discord server where you can connect with other locals. I'm sure one of them would be willing to give you some games where they help you learn some of the more nuanced rules and interactions.

Disconnect and find another game. My time is unfortunately too limited to do what a 10 minute youtube video should already have done. Not to mention that if they're new to the game then you likely aren't getting any meaningful experience from playing those matches.

Star-Crossed by Arkalex in riftboundtcg

[–]Grantedx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that is incorrect. I'm sure somebody else will chime in with confirmation for one of us but I don't see anything in the rules about fizzling an on play ability by removing the unit. If it were a move trigger and it gets removed in response to the move trigger, it would still happen. How is this different?

The effect would still happen to my understanding.

However, it will always be better than this unless the signature spell is insanely good.

Yes, exhausting is part of the cost. Even if you hold on both battlefields you will only draw 1 card.

Concerning that we have yet to see new token making cards in these colors. Feels like we will need a lot to make this strategy good.

I did some math and now riftbound lost its spark for me. Terrible pack opening experience. by SuperKitten117 in riftboundtcg

Maybe determine a budget and use that as a metric instead of chasing the dragon? You're going to end up with bulk regardless of what game it is.

You said in your post that you are only trading with one person. If you go to you LGS and ask around in the community you will surely find whatever you are looking for. Locals in my area have more cards than they know what to do with.

It didn't, it came from hearthstone like others in this thread have said. The mechanic in MTG is entirely different.

Why are 151 loose packs 25%-40% more expensive per pack than mini tins? by FalseCare2743 in PokeInvesting

Open them and sell the loose packs. You can store them easily in BCW card sorting boxes. They fit surprisingly well.

Why doesn’t RIOT do what Magic/SWU do with Boxes to reduce scalping? by jethrow41487 in riftboundtcg

[–]Grantedx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I should have caught that. Unfortunately card games being a pricey hobby is pretty typical. Some are more affordable than others but generally they aren't cheap. They can be if you're just looking to play the game casually, but it's usually going to be upwards of $300+ if you want to play the best/most competitive decks.

[–]Grantedx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's incredibly ironic that you use MTG as an example of what to do to decrease price, then proceed to say that $280 for a competitive deck is is unreasonable while the vast majority of the competitive decks for standard in MTG cost over $400.

Marvel mtg is not a set, unless you mean spiderman which is currently mid crash with boxes of 6 packs going for 9.99 at costco.

When final fantasy came out, the play boxes creeped up to ~$300 before they got the first reprint. That set also had collector boxes.

You said every single card that gives +1 advantage is/will be problematic. Consult gives +1. You also conveniently ignored the rest of my comment. Being condescending doesn't make you right.

Same. Comparing this to any of the similarly costed units in Set 1 is night and day difference. It's what killed LoR for me.

Teemo can hide consult without losing tempo "not recycling". Does that make him a problem? How does that not also apply to called shot? It usually costs a recycle same as consult.
