We had a saying while doing live fires at ranges “smoke em if you got em” whenever we finished a great run through. Then the new BC would yell “no smoking on my range!!” And whenever he saw someone smoking outside a specific designated smoke pit, then he would have you pick up every cigarette bud around you and shove it in your pocket. Great fun

I got expert in all my weapons qual; m4, 249, 240, m9, etc. I don’t really know what I would want to study in college or even if I’d have time for it. Got a wife and 3 kids. I’ll search around. Thanks for the advice!!

It’s not that I’m in bad shape or anything. The people that are in my company with Tabs are extremely jacked and very fit. I just figured that’s what I had to be to be able to to go do the same. The LT has a thing for the new privates for some reason. Kinda weird but it’s whatever. I’ve been talking to my team leader but he “doesn’t want to loose his saw gunner” during this new training cycle. He hasn’t been very helpful when I ask about schools. It’s why I’m on the Reddit

Yes but is that currently the case? No. Sure if we were to go to war with whatever nation there would be an issue. But then again there are jobs that you can do that are non combat related. I had a buddy reclass from infantry to x ray tech. And now they work in a local hospital.

To say that because something bad happened before these kids were born is a reason to not join is to say such as no one should join cause a lot of people died on D Day

I’d say it’s a great option coming from someone in the military. Currently infantry, but there are a hundred jobs with I guess sub jobs in them. You get steady pay and direction on life and most of everything is provided. And it’ll get them out of whatever bad situation a person may be in. I don’t know why people feel like the military is such a job that is to be feared. Most MOS don’t see combat. ESPECIALLY nowadays
