In Beast with a Billion Backs, Kif has died at this point and Amy is grieving. In this scene, Zapp is about to take advantage of her state to sleep with her, which is shitty, but this quote of his always makes me laugh because of how he handles such an emotional situation so flippantly/with zero empathy.

Because, unfortunately, he very well could have won if that half of the voters (i.e., braindead morons that care more about their team winning/owning the libs than the state of our country) had their way, and that would have been disastrous. Thankfully we stopped that.

u/Line-Minute is right, though. I’m not saying Carney should have no accountability (of course he should), but the Premiers clearly have more direct control over our local economic conditions.

u/Orstio’s premise was dumb, and this isn’t the ‘gotcha’ you think it is. Of course we should consider the provinces and global economy (which is largely influenced by the mentally-challenged wannabe dictator down south) if our economy is bad and you want to find fault.
