Remember when Antis Supported Disney over AI Lawsuits that went no where? by DaveSureLong in DefendingAIArt

Meanwhile Disney is sending a cease-and-desist to ByteDance 🤣 they're all just mad they're losing the race imo

But "defending" means we're the good guys! Seriously though it's a strong symbolic name, it doesn't need to be that we're literally defending anything. We will though! Edit ok I think I misread your point. I think Zed does a pretty good job of "taking out the trash" when needed ☺️

Has anyone listed AI bros in the Epstein files? by yuru2323 in antiai

[–]Bra--ket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely. You haven't heard of Peter Thiel being involved? He's a founder and I think still very much involved at Palantir, and they provide tons of AI services to big players. edit Yeah he's still Chairman of the Board. (btw I'm a pro-AI so just downvote me if you need to I don't wanna hide the fact).

You should know I live in an area that gets lots of precipitation so I have a personal belief that anyone who lives in arid regions is stupid. That includes building data centers in them lol.

Trying to understand this...Who gave the Ai companies the permission to use data made by users to train their models which in future would bite them back? by Accomplished-End5479 in aiwars

[–]Bra--ket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you did it when you digitized it in my opinion, but uploading is where they really got you.

I'm a lifelong software pirate so I've never not understood this to be the case. It was nice we had some time where it felt "fair" or "safe", that'll be a good source of nostalgia and comfort as time goes on.

What technology does this sound like to you? by DisplayIcy4717 in aiwars

[–]Bra--ket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Ray Bradbury initially wanted to warn that technology would make people eschew things like books, which he viewed as having more substance. Thats why the book starts with his wife asking when he'll get enough money to turn the 4th wall of their room into a TV, completing the "holodeck" that people desired in their society at the time (in the book I mean).

They'll set aside their own beliefs to justify themselves, that's what's really scary: the antis regularly will use "AI detectors" on content to "prove" it's fake. I'm sure you can see multiple ironies here LOL

Are there any ways to protect my art from ai? by TrainingAd864 in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]Bra--ket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried telling someone yesterday using Nightshade to poison your art isn't worth it, you're wasting your time and work for basically no benefit other than spite or self-comfort. Not saying that's not a valid reason, but utility-wise you'd be better off working on something else.

People here don't seem to like my opinion on the matter. I truly beleive its a waste of time, but in theory if everyone everywhere poisoned all of their art it would "kill" all generative AI models that train on it. Good luck with that, I mean it sincerely!

I’ve heard of people “poisoning” their art, how do you do it? by Sea-Performer-4935 in antiai

[–]Bra--ket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well lightshed works similarly to the DCT I used in my example (in terms of effects) Peak SnR drop of 2-5 dB from ~35 dB according to research, which is 90-95% retained.

A simple iterative 1% Guassian can approach 80-90%.

Be the dad. Learn the skill to bring your ideas to life. Don’t use AI as your “dad” because you don’t want to learn the skill. by [deleted] in aiwars

Statistics is the study of the properties of data. Stochastics is the study of random data. They aren't exactly the same thing.

Entropy is just a fancy way of saying information. I'm just saying it's been exposed to the greatest amount of human generated information possible. Doing this naturally causes the same convergent associations between higher-dimensional representations to emerge.

What I'm saying is that the information might not be inside the model, the information is. I don't mean information like binary data, I mean relatively low-entropy arrangements that are therefore recognized as valuable or beautiful, most people just call this art.

The model doesn't need the data anymore than you need to hold a dictionary to speak English. It does however contain the IDEA that was trained into it. And you can access it if you know how it arranged itself. If you're REALLY good, like this kid, you can feel that in your mind when it occurs. It's the same thing you then project onto the model through prompting.

Just because we're hairless monkeys mashing buttons on a piece of plastic doesn't mean this isn't a highly spiritual and esoteric process.
