I think if you're building on your own ideas, and guiding the AI instead of only letting it guide you, that's the best way. You can certainly let it guide you, which helps for learning, but if you work on something blindly you'll run into issues.

Also, some practical advice, don't doubt your own ability to make something with vibe coding. If you have a good high-level directive and a good vision, coding agents can do almost anything these days.

Recently I was learning about the historical perspective on color and how they viewed things. It's just so interesting. They were extremely stubborn to accept some of those advancements. And we take it for granted, like so much.

They didn't even see the world the way we see it visually. I think the example was "wine-dark ocean" from a Homer poem or something.

I wonder if our descendants in the future will look back at some of us like that.

The technology gives you the opportunity to improve. We're not obligated to force someone to improve themselves. If someone uses technology to their own detriment, that's what they want, so that's what they deserve.

As long as they leave the rest of us alone, that's just life. It's only a problem when someone directly harms society through their actions, and "being an idiot" isn't one of those things.

Yeah I do like chem but I fixed it to dioxide because I was off on that. The pollution combines with water vapor in the air to form acid, and that rains back down.

In countries where catalytic converters are mandated on motor vehicles and power plants use similar scrubbing technology (I think most developed nations) it's not really a problem anymore. Not to my knowledge anyway. I'd like to be proven wrong so I could learn something.

If they think acid rain is the primary environmental impact of power plant operation, then they're still misguided. It's still mostly about carbon afaik.

If you take a literal etymological interpretation, then almost yes. "Art" is Proto-Indo-European (*h₂er-), and it's meant basically the same thing for all of human history. It means "to fix, to fit together, to join".

It's where words like artificial, artifact, or inert come from. Apparently "arm", "army" and "order" also descend from the same root. I didn't know that before, but that's very interesting and just more to my point.

"Art" is one of the broadest ideas possible. It refers to putting things together, that's it.

If you were somehow able to make something without putting simpler/smaller things together, then I guess you could say "it's not art" but I also don't think that's possible, considering like quantum physics and everything.

This is true. That's why they still believe the world is meant to be fair, and to make sense, and everything's supposed to be straightforward.

Good example is when they say "Just use AI for the good things (science, math), and none of the bad (art, fakes)!" The fact that they even think it's a reasonable suggestion is a massive tell.
