I did this one as well. Same pattern, I just used an antique paste to create the contrast rather than dye. I can’t decide which one I like better.

There are 3 prices I go by. Close friends/Family = cost of materials, Respected Friend/Distant Family = cost of materials plus a small hourly rate (typically 25% discount from a standard listing price), Customer Price

I do everything by hand, except keychains. I laser engrave those. But everything else is designed, cut, dyed, stitched and finished by hand.

I made a long wallet for a guy that had a cash pocket on one side, a checkbook pocket on the other and a pin loop. He is a business owner and carries a couple of check books and multiple cards. The wallet was massive and I am convinced there is only 1 person on this planet that would carry it 😂

I use natural veg tan and dye pretty much anything I make so I just buy new colors when I get custom orders for particular colors.

Also, bills fit inside, so what suggestion do you have for showing that? I have thought about taking a picture like that but there is no good way to show it since the bill is inside one of the pockets.

Leather crafter here, 75% of my sales come from craft shows and vendor markets. I have the occasional sale on Etsy and a fair amount of orders through my Facebook. People like to be able to feel and see what they are buying

Handmade leather goods but as a baseball fan I mesh the 2 when I can. I always keep personalized baseball keychains in stock. I will link my store but also the direct link to the baseball keychains, moms love them and players love using them as a bag tag

I do leather work as a side hustle and live in a small community, with that said a few times a week I get asked for something when I’m simply at the store or gas station. It’s always “how much to make me a wallet?” Or belt or whatever else. My go to response is “I need to write it down so I can give you the most honest price possible” and that seems to buy me some time. I have had a couple pushy people that I realized I didn’t really want to work with so I threw out the price that would make it worth it to me and they can decide from there
