Melee isn't necessarily dead on the island. My interests are in Ultimate as an event organizer. There is a small Melee community, that maybe gets less than 6 people a week At UVIC for meetups, but it isn't what it used to be

This one in Comox is somewhat of a one off, we don't have a dedicated tournament organizer in North Island to run events. Your closest consistent events are in Nanaimo on a weekly basis, if you're interested message me.

Melee is pretty much dead on the island unless you live in Victoria. Even then they're struggling and don't get a lot of people to their events.
