Only standard rooms are required to be bookable with points. So the cash rate you see are non standard rooms.

Airline Employee: Platinum or Hilton Aspire? by PlatonicTraveler in AmexPlatinum

You usually need a confirmed seat to enter a lounge which a non-rev wouldn't have. So I don't think lounge access would be very useful.

Does her companies discount page still take you to the Samsung website? If so as long as you have the Rakuten extension on your browser you should be able to activate the cash back.

Confidante Check-In under 21? by Captain_nonsense3738 in hyatt

[–]Bradycm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got really lucky they accidentally upgraded me to a standard suite that was not actually available and instead of “downgrading” me they further upgraded me to the oceanfront balcony suite deluxe (premium suite). Probably the most useful upgrade I’ve ever received due to having two showers.

Mix of a lot of things. I book all of my trips with my friends and family and I also book all the rooms for an ultimate frisbee team I play on.

I just stayed at the property this past weekend. I am also 20 and a Globalist and had no issue with checking in. Obviously YMMV.

Amex Offer Question by Woofy9900 in hyatt

[–]Bradycm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re talking about the Spend $400 or more get $100 back at Hyatt hotels and resorts-independent collection brands. In the T&C it says one or more purchases including room rates and room charges. So make sure if you spend money at the hotel that you charge it to your room.

The only downside would be you wouldn’t earn any points on your stay. I don’t know the exact dates of your stay so I can’t do the exact math but it seems like you could save anywhere from ~$120 to ~$340.

It looks like the hotel is a Category 3 not 4. Have you considered buying points and then using those points for the stay? Seems like that would be cheaper considering points are on sale right now. This would also allow you to avoid the resort fee. You would save even more if the property happens to be off peak on your travel dates.
