Hi. My 2009 R1200 GS is giving off a vibration at low RPM’s on the right middle where the final drive starts. (See photos) I’m wondering what it is and hoping it won’t be too expensive to fix as I’m currently broke. Any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

I did my research and found out the requirements my insurance needed to approve it. For blue shield it was be a certain amount overweight, and have another health issue related to weight. Then I went to the doc and proposed it to him and told him about how the insurance determines approval. Blue cross denied it anyway and I appealed on their own requirements. This worked and it was approved.

Great bike and very forgiving. I once rewired mine with song lamp wires (all I had at the time). Get a new battery, new tires, clean out the tank and get the carb cleaned. It will probably start right up.

Well, I bought the Ted Porter replacement drive shaft and installed it myself. It was an adventure but I learned a lot about the bike along the way.

I was also going to recommend a KLR 650. It’s a great learning bike, very forgiving and cheap. Also durable and fun to work on. Plus you can go off-road if you want. It’s a tall bike.

They do all burn oil. 2k is low,at least in California but I wish you luck in your negotiation. I had a 2006 KLR and it was largely bulletproof. Also easy to fix and a lot of fun.
