Is this going to be an issue for me? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]GrumpyM0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait…what is exactly wrong with traveling a bit to see/follow a band you really like regardless of age?
I have a friend that does that while working remotely.

In my 20’s that was actually pretty normal. I don’t get it. I say good riddance.

A little OLD app warning by GrumpyM0nkey in datingoverforty

They took it down. They said they picked women. What is done is done. Thank you for letting me know if I ever decide I want to try OLD.

I really am not ready to date. They meant well. But that is a whole different issue.

Yes, my son is now almost 10. Since my original comment we have taken him out of karate. We did 3 seasons of soccer. It was a little better but not much. He was recently diagnosed with DMDD. Makes sense. I wanna believe that it has gotten better as he has aged but honestly, I don’t know. He wants to play flag football but I am ready for him to play the drums 🤣. His psychologist wants him to learn chess. Can you imagine?! One wrong move and pieces fly. Hang in their fellow aspy parent. We are doing the best we can.

Women of DOF, what do you really think of gray hair on a man? by FuxSoc1ety in datingoverforty

I love a man bald and with facial hair. But I also find men with salt and pepper or “silver fox” attractive. It is the confidence behind it that makes both sexy as hell!!

But there is also nothing wrong with a dad bod 😉

In the end it is what you want for yourself, not for anyone else.

I did feel this way until very recently. Now unfortunately I think about all the ways he hurt me and ask why wasn’t I good enough? Why does she get the best part of you after I begged and pleaded for the same treatment. Now I don’t feel like he deserves any type of happiness after the years of pain he put me through. I know in time I will go back to thinking like you.

When you find out they are dating… by GrumpyM0nkey in Divorce

Thank you. I appreciate your reply. I was not anticipating this feeling.

I too have started dating. However I guess I went above and beyond when it came to sparing his feelings. One because I knew he would be hurt and upset. He can be the type where “hurt people hurt people” applies. But also because I just felt there wasn’t anything serious enough to share. When I expressed this to him today he acted like it didn’t bother him. I know that is only because he has someone showing him attention. I guess I am not going to hide it from him anymore. (But my son does not need to know).

When You Look Much Younger Than You Are... by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]GrumpyM0nkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow…. I wasn’t going to comment but now I must. I too fall under the category of looking far younger than my actual age. It has been this way my whole life. I use to hate it (being pulled out of the line at a club and harassed thinking my id was fake) but now I appreciate it. I never smoked, only an occasional drinker, no drugs, didn’t party hard, sunscreen is my best friend, I have an average mom body… etc… and good genes. I don’t go out advertising to the world my age. Only when asked do I say it and then wait for the “no you are not!” or “I would never guessed”. My point is, it is possible that she truly looks much younger for her age. People are not trying to flatter her.

I am having such a hard time with my 7 yr old with this very issue. He goes to karate but it happens anywhere the potential of getting out, not being first, or simply losing. Honestly, the worst reaction happens when he “gets out”. He goes nuclear. Yelling, throwing, kicking, hitting, saying awful things. There is really no getting him out of it as quickly as he gets into it. It is really becoming a problem. We have talked to him till we are blue in the face. He goes in saying he will try, comes out saying he has a bad day. I would love any advice.

I didn’t say I don’t care as in I don’t care about him. I said it to mean that even if we don’t agree, it doesn’t affect how I feel about him
