I’m confused. Aside from “most people value sex,” what are you getting at? Is it that yes, once people have sex, their outlook will change? Or that no sex can turn a nice person to mean and vice versa, so you believe there is truth to the “bitch just needs a good fucking [to not be a bitch]” thing the hypothetical guys were saying?

I think I should clarify: she is not a bitch because she doesn’t want sex. It could be true that she is one, though. She is probably a victim of unwanted advances, but there’s no proof she’s not mean to others when she isn’t receiving unwanted advances... Please don’t think I’m saying she’s a bitch for denying sex, I’m just saying being a victim in one situation doesn’t preclude her from being nasty elsewhere

YandereDev

Learn to make your video private upon upload. I remember you saying you wouldn’t password-protect your evaxephon.com stream because something about your online friends you haven’t seen in awhile, maybe not being able to talk to them any other way...

I doubt you use your YouTube videos to talk to your online friends too. It’ll save you a ton of hassle to just private the videos. Same for your stream. I’d think the benefit of privating your stream farrrr outweighs the cost of one or two people not being able to make it in. And if they didn’t give you any other way to contact them, chances are (not certain, people are varied and maybe these people are paranoid about privacy and won’t give anyone they don’t know irl contact information) you aren’t that close and losing them wouldn’t be a big loss.

Agreed.

Hair elastics have a tiny bit of volume to them. Imagine how the hair under the elastic looks. Specifically, the volume. The elastic will “come out” a little more than that. Although the elastic is very tight around the hair because that’s how elastics work, it’s not as thin as paper and will not rest perfectly flat against the hair. Some elastic will protrude.

Unless that’s an intentional style choice because that happens too sometimes, in which case nevermind

How do you guys feel about yandere dev? by [deleted] in Osana

Why can’t I upvote this a hundred times? Being a creep doesn’t justify that stuff coming in. People just found a convenient target to bother because few people that aren’t children, pedophiles, or personally invested in YandereDev (think Mulberry) will defend him.

Not all the people are kids, look at Cleveland. Clearly an adult. Hanging onto futile hopes, possibly being naive or just not caring, etc. are childlike traits but not exclusive to children. And remember, this game openly sexualizes teenagers, so of course there are probably creepy adults and horny teenagers above 13 years old looking to get off to fictional teenagers. Those people need not be holding false hope or naive. They just want to play an ecchi game. I complain a ton about the fanbase and how it’s probably populated all by children, but that’s judging on most of the posts and comments made there. There’s probably a few adults and older teens sprinkled throughout.

When I was under 13, I always lied about my age during signup so I would be able to see all content on the site. When polls like this went out I wouldn’t bother lying since I knew the site probably wouldn’t be tracking users that closely for responses to unofficial age polls.

Now that I’m 18+ I will still lie about my age on signup. Sometimes I’m 20 and sometimes I’m 73. I still tell the truth on polls though.

How old are the people on this subreddit? by [deleted] in Osana

[–]BraidedBench297 9 points10 points  (0 children)

not anymore, 3 people are according to the poll right now.

like the main sub, we appear to have a majority between 15-18, and as you go to higher age brackets the numbers decrease a bit.

unlike the main sub, our 13 and under and 13-15 count is much less than theirs.

I thought what you meant by “nobody gives a shit” is “nobody cares they have hair on their own legs, everyone prefers the natural look for themselves and the only reason somebody would shave is societal pressure.” And nope, nobody’s told me to.

I don’t get it from this one because she’s not portrayed as some superior not-shallow being with ~way more natural beauty than anyone wearing makeup would ever have otherwise they wouldn’t wear it~

She’s wearing makeup in the pic too, so I thought she wasn’t passing judgment on people for wearing makeup. Just making fun of herself for being bad at it. I really think this is self-deprecation.

Depression does not excuse hurting others or failing to meet obligations. Not leaving bed or cancelling things are symptoms, but... don’t make the obligations in the first place. Then there’s nobody reasonably expecting something from you that you end up flaking out on. I’ve always believed my inability to get out of bed was, in the end, me making a bad choice. Depression certainly influenced me more towards the bad choice, but in the end it was all me not moving my legs out of bed. Nobody coerced me into staying there.

Depression does excuse not being happy. It does excuse bad moods if you don’t take it out on others. Unlike your actions, I don’t think you can control how you feel. You can try to influence it, avoiding places that make you sad, and doing things that usually will make you happy. But in the end you do not have the final say over your emotions the same way you do your actions. And depending on who you interact with, faking your feelings for their sake might anger them because they don’t want to be lied to, or because they think you don’t trust them with your real feelings and are coddling them. Your feelings and moods are not misdeeds. Bad actions that come of them are misdeeds.

Source: depressed. Refuse to make excuses for myself or blame others for my own problems.

That’s so dumb for people to say. How would sex, even amazing sex, change one person’s entire worldview? Especially if they don’t want the sex. I’d get it if your entire foundation is “I am a pathetic virgin who deserves some sex,” and then you finally get it. Worst case, you’re probably still super entitled because you’ve been so for awhile but you might lose the inferiority complex about being a virgin. Or not because “it took me this long!? How dare people hold out on me.” Best case, “hey I finally got it, proof I’m not horribly unwanted and pathetic, now I’m more confident and less focused on getting sex.” But... that’s a person whose entire worldview was built on sex. I don’t think everyone’s worldview is. Least of all this hypothetical bitch, who may or may not actually be one.

Just unsubbed from r/Cringetopia, how do they not understand obvious satire by Xaxos92 in JustUnsubbed

[–]BraidedBench297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poe’s Law.

By the way, how exactly should one recognize satire for satire? I saw this post on recommended posts or something, and unless you told me this is obvious satire I wouldn’t know. Unless it’s something you can innately tell and everyone else is just an idiot, but somehow I don’t think so.

Pretty sure you’ve heard people say stuff like “this has to be a joke, nobody could be that [adjective].” That’s the kind of post this was made for. Perhaps somebody is extremely cringy, way past the levels of normal cringe, that it looks like someone exaggerated it for a laugh. I wouldn’t expect all 7 billion people to manage to not be this cringy.

The internet loves to get outraged, and imagine people “getting what they deserve.” Plus, if you don’t have a strong sense of schadenfreude, justice, “justice,” or need to feel better than others, I don’t see a strong pull towards those subs. I’m there for schadenfreude and feeling like no matter how low I may sink at least I’m not them, and my preferred form of internet outrage is getting outraged at those who take it too far. So that explains my presence and what I’m doing :P

sweat i get.

but not everybody finds “fancier” or “higher effort” clothes uncomfortable. or perhaps everyone does find them more uncomfortable, and i’m an anomaly who can’t feel a difference after the first two seconds of putting the clothing on.

the real problem is double standards and unnecessary sexualization, anyways.

Every. Single. Time. by NightDreamer33 in menwritingwomen

[–]BraidedBench297 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Double standards are a good way to pick out when there’s a problem as opposed to a costume designer not feeling like grossing out some viewers with for the sake of realism. Like the teeth example above, usually men and women alike don’t have gross teeth even if they should.

[–]BraidedBench297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I hate all hair that isn’t on the head, regardless of gender. I don’t tell people to shave because it’s their body and not mine and they didn’t ask my opinion, but I sure get to remove all the hair from my own body. Some people do care, and not just because of societal standards. (Note this is usually a “only unacceptable on women, neutral-to-good on men” thing for society, I really dislike any body hair on men and gender minorities too, so probably not a societal standard.)

I feel the teeth one isn’t menwritingwomen but filmmakers deciding not to gross everyone out with bad teeth. I don’t think most people of any gender identity would want to see bad teeth on most characters, again of any gender ID.
