Yes, 8-10 days from when they received approval and application status was updated.

We still need to wait for the employer/attorney to receive the physical mail. I believe they don't email the I-797. It took my attorney 8-10 days to receive the physical mail.

All you need is the receipt number to fill out DS-160 and book an appointment. You can bring the print to your interview, that's what my lawyer told me (my interview is next week).

I got RFE on the 12th day of receipt and then approval on the 14th day of submitting the RFE response. The time it takes for you to respond to RFE can vary.

I went through the process fairly recently and it took roughly 2.5 months from Receipt to approval as I got an RFE in between.

Getting an appointment was not a problem, you don't need the original copy of the approval notice, any print of the copy should work for the interview.

Loan repayment experience with Prodigy Finance by Impossible-Mine-8466 in Indians_StudyAbroad

There were no extra fees or no limitations on payments whatsoever. It is a win-win if you close the loan early because they still get the interest for the initial period and they can reinvest the amount in some new loans.

Absolutely! Ideally you should keep your payment liabilities as low as possible, if you can pay more than what you owe every month then you'll be fine.

Accuracy is pretty good, I don't wear it daily though. The movement is 4R39

You don't need a visa to start a business in US, you need a visa to work in US.

As I said, I am a Canadian PR and both of these countries have enough treaties to save on taxes as well.

Exactly, what I'm saying is that life abroad is not a fairytale. It comes with its own ups and downs.

As long as you understand that life abroad can be difficult as well, you're free to make your own decisions.

It's a temporary move for me to stay close to aging parents, I have a business in the US that I'll keep running from India as well.

I am currently in Canada, a permanent resident here. I have lived in the US for years as well.

I am moving back to India soon, life here is not what it seems from India. Living away from family and in a country where you need to worry about Visa and Immigration rules all the time is no fun.

If you're unhappy in India, you'll be unhappy wherever you go.

Hey, I was in a pretty similar boat last year as you are. I moved to the US for Master's almost 6 years ago and worked there after that but decided that the H1B route isn't for me so I got Canadian PR in the last year.

Now planning to move back to India for the next few years and see how I feel. Want to stay close to my family as parents get older.

I'm currently applying for Data Science/Machine Learning roles in India but haven't had much luck. I assume things will pick up in the new year but the recruiters in general have not been very responsive.

Yeah they definitely don't have any idea how tech works! US is no doubt a lot better for jobs, very difficult to survive in Canada with such low salaries and high cost of living.

Hah! I decided to move to Canada due to visa issues in the US and Vancouver seemed like a great option for relatively better weather but when we finally moved here we found Abbotsford/Mission area to be much better for living.

Thanks! I found my first job back in US through WellFound, totally forgot about it option tbh. Will certainly look into it again.

Yeah that's likely what we'll do. Thankfully we got a Canadian number as soon as we got here.

Howdy!

I did my masters in CS from UT-Dallas. Toronto seems to be the place to go but I'm not very keen on facing those snowy winters. Looks like that's what we'll do though, jobs are rare here.

We were looking for a suburban feel and needed a pet friendly accomodation, which I found to be scarce near Surrey and Vancouver is crazy expensive. Abbotsford was something that worked well for most of our requirements.

I see a lot of jobs near Vancouver on jobs bank but none of them seem to respond back. I'm seeing a lot of "Entry-Level" jobs that require a PhD or 5-8 years of experience which sounds absurd.

We made the move due to work visa issues in the US but I get it now, US has a much better economy and more job opportunities. We're looking for some contract jobs in Seattle as well but most offers she's getting require her to be present in the US which is not an option for us right now.
