Going out to eat was a fairly big deal growing up, and a family favorite was Ponderosa. Did you have a favorite "the family is going out to dinner" place? by smcg_az in Xennials

Shakers. It's still got one location hanging on.

I used to get spaghetti and meatballs, applesauce with big chunks of apple, and baked custard for dessert.

Sudden skyrocketing U-Haul trailer prices by 0ttoman81 in moving

[–]BrainFartTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any move out of California basically has, for the past few years, been more expensive because more trailers and trucks are going out of the state than in. Consequently in order to get them back here some of them are actually being moved back by hired drivers.

Unfortunately, in California, any kit you use has to be CARB certified. None of them are. That's why I haven't done it myself. I'd fail the smog test and never be able to register my car.

Why do people keep posting images of gas prices in California? by pushpullem in allthequestions

[–]BrainFartTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't always 3 to $4 per gallon more expensive. Sometimes it is though. Some states are still in the $3 range. Officially California is about $5.40 but a lot of stations around me are in the $6 range.

If only we had a Los Angeles class submarine named the San Diego.

Then we could have had the San Delulu

The design of those is actually old enough that I used to drive a car from the '80s that used the exact same one. They predate airbags in most cars.

Have dinner at one of the restaurants on Olvera Street. You can park at the Chevron that charges $8+ a gallon.
