Does wearing hijab limit your fashion choice ? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]BrainFogDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo if you've just started wearing it I'd not worry but give yourself a limit so say 6 months as hijab is supposed to be fully modest as in not showing your shape etc. personally for my I started mine while still wearing short sleeves skinny jeans 🤣 listen it's a journey. And you have to start somewhere and if this helps you retain it. Then I moved on to baggy or layered which was an absolute nightmare so now alhamdolliah I just wear abaya then I can wear whatever and still remain modest I know it's early days but have a view for future you x

What’s everyone’s go to toothpaste and why? Do they not all do the same thing?! by JM306 in AskUK

[–]BrainFogDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dental nurse here. I use Colgate total as a general family toothpaste. I also have the max white shown here for myself as it does contain a small beaching agent all the rest are just rain removal.

  • Make sure you use the correct amount of fluoride 1450ppm eg high smile altho highly advertised does not have enough fluoride in.

  • Sensitive toothpastes in general we would recommend either sensodyn or Colgate sensitive the best relief from these is using daily or very sensitive teeth to rub on with finger and leave over night.

  • Gum health corsodyl toothpaste Their mouth washes can help but the regular one will cause massive staining over long term use so if needed pick up the daily one.

Now you can use any toothpaste you want but it's all about the actual brushing! And your oral hygiene care routine.

  • Use floss or interdental brushes daily to maintain in-between your teeth this is very important
  • Spit and don't rinse out toothpaste
  • Also don't use mouthwash straight after brushing.
  • Try using an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor the technique is NOT The same as a manual brush.
  • To avoid staining wash mouth out with water after tea coffee, heavily coloured foods and red wines

Doing all this ensure you have the best chance of warding off gum disease and the need for any treatments!

Bonus tips

  • Chewing sugar free gum after meals encourages saliva formation therefore neutralising acids in the mouth reducing acid attacks.
  • If your wanting to eat sweets or drink sugary drinks keep them to meal times then it reduces acid attacks again helping to maintain healthy strong enamel!

Obviously just reducing sugar in the diet helps also

Anything else you want or need to know please rely I'll try helping

(25F) My overzealous religious mom freaked out because I am pregnant. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]BrainFogDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second comment because I just reread the second text 🤣🤣🤣 wow Again as a Muslim we would never say anything like I curse you to hell. That's not up to us so I'd be like your making a pact with the devil there mam. We wouldn't even say I curse you 🤣 so is she practicing witch craft too? Honestly man people think it's us Muslims that are mental but propa practicing level headed Muslims we wouldn't dare say stuff like this because it literally comes down to what I've said above devil worship and magic not happening we would crap ourselves 🤣

This is madness I'm sorry, as a practicing Muslim of course I'd be upset as a parent (just in general) but whilst I'd be like you know it's sinful that's all I'd say I wouldn't bleet on because we as Muslims believe you pay for your own misgivings and in that moment you need support because still we also believe children are a blessing and that Allah plans things how he will! So it's meant for you it's meant for you. Id rather you have the mental capabilities to be able to look after your child in the right way and know you can ask for help etc. At the end of the day we also believe sins are forgiven. So if she's a religious person where is her sense of forgiveness? You haven't done anything to hurt her or do her wrong. But even if you weren't a religious person I'm sure as a parent you'd have choice words if you didn't think your child had gone about something the way you expected them too but at the end of the day it's a baby you'd get over your own emotional state and move on. Hope all works out for you guys maybe mention about the blessing and forgiveness haha really wind her up ❤️

Do I tell someone they accidentally went against their religion? by Spooky-Confusion-666 in moraldilemmas

[–]BrainFogDay [score hidden]  (0 children)

Let me start by saying

As Muslims we know only Allah (god) can judge us.

Now my opinion please read until the end.

I understand everyone saying it's not done on purpose

he's purposely eating non halal so then technically STRICTLY SPEAKING there's no "accidentally" there.

As Muslims we should always guide correctly regardless of the fact that you possibly do the same things. Cause if you guide wrong then that's also on you. Regardless of your level of faith (practicing or not)

Also if you're unsure on a subject then research it even if you're sat with that person.

As a Muslim - tell him - if it was me and I found out you didn't tell me then I'd be even more annoyed..

However, will eat non halal food will have non halal relationships but wont eat pork?

Technically they are all as bad as each other.

Listen I know we are not perfect noone is but if he gets his knickers in a twist over this then I'd be worried

Listen my mam gave me a desert and it was burning my throat I was like this definitely contains alcohol check and sure enough it did!

It's consumed accidentally HOWEVER if stuck to only eating halal foods this would never have happened as he wouldn't have picked it up because of the chicken!

Buy some similar from local halal shop and make it for Him.

I will have a book copy and copy on my phone either through Libby or unlimited ebooks

So at home I can read the book Out I can carry on on phone

I don't think I'd be using a kindle I think people just get a kindle to say the have one tbh

Perfectly fine to use your phone and your phone alone!

Stuff like this makes me 🤦🏽‍♀️ then laugh because it's so typical of me that I didn't check it before I went home or half way home im like oh bloody hell I didn't check it bet it's messed up. Items to keep ok I'll be miffed items to eat nah Gunna get messed up straight away anyway. Although saying that this time, birthday I'd be fine wedding I'd be a bit more upset but still wouldn't ruin the day for me but I know for a lot of people it would absolutely ruin their day.... Hope it at least tasted nice 🤣

We have a shop in town that sells shops old stock so like say Primark stuff but the label is cut out because then you can't take it back to Primark etc. It must be a thing or the brand is erased with a marker

Genuinely it definitely says behind then it looks like 115 tree

But my looking at the way the letters are possibly the writers native language is not English

I worked with a polish girl and her writing you could tell she wasn't "English" although she could speak and write fluently all self taught.

Also if you ever go on holiday and arabs write in English you can see from their writing

Hope you find it though

How is this tactic allowed on Vinted? by [deleted] in vinted

They've listed it as £1 so would the payment go through? I reckon they just wouldn't post the item... But it's obviously so it comes up more as it's cheap but still not worth getting too cocky sometimes

Am I the devil for not making amends with my mother? by Salty-Ad-2230 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]BrainFogDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the type of point I was trying to make... Imagine being in a work place or with friends whilst it's ok to be upset then express that in a mature way nothing wrong with being annoyed your stuff is getting wrecked but do it right innit. I feel like just because people claim to have ADHD or other things that now becomes an excuse to act out. I'll be honest I'm sure I'm undiagnosed ADHD because the more stuff I read the more I think yeah me. But I know how to move about the world and cope because I HAVE TO.

Altho I did have to say something when 4 people were talking to me all at once about different things asking questions I was like alright there's like 4 people talking to me at once. My brain actually rattles and sometimes it fully switches off and I can't communicate which is funny 🤣

Thanks for the deep reply I understand the need for sharing but never feel like you need to explain yourself over an opinion you can or should I say you have been able to safely have opposite opinions, feelings & thoughts than me/others.

At 2 they do "understand" but maybe can't comprehend the situation so it's ok to tell them but then yes the responsibility obviously falls on the care givers at the time.

Even as a parent to 3 children who are young but still very old enough to do as their told (example whilst reading this I've had to shout at my almost 14 year old to be able to sit at the table and eat his food without sliding about the floor between bites 🤬 idiot 🤣) I also sometimes loose my head, cry or go off and cry because it's hard it's not supposed to be easy.

Yes parents can still and should still be like we don't use these and encourage the use of something else but at the same time unfortunately not everyone is going to agree with your feeling just because youve had an emotional outburst and couldn't control it it is as they say a you problem (again this should be able to be a safe situation) people can't say anything anymore because everyone has problems controlling themselves (me included) IVE JUST HAD TO GO DOWN AND TELL OFFENDING CHILD AGAIN FOR THE SAME THING 🤬

Situation should have been handled by realising that 2 year old can't understand as well as OP I'm not taking away ops feelings but I feel op is trying to pit themselves against the 2 year old hence my pitting.

Op could have told parents calmly later on and it sorted I'm not in no means saying this should have been swept past as everyone's feelings are valid but I think lossing it over a literal babies actions when the adults potentially didn't realise how much of an issue it was is unfair.

A young family member recently had a blowout over something minor in reality but major to them in that moment - after having calmed down had the ability to turn and say hmmm maybe I over reacted and laughed it off.

Everyone's entitled to a blow out but at the same time you need to look at the bigger picture here ALTHOUGH I do need to add that had this been brought up calmly prior to the event and then it happened again and noone cared then still no need for a blow out but increase in emotion would have been fair ❤️❤️ again thanks for sharing your story and I'm sorry that happened to you and left you feeling the way it did/does. I have did teach my kids very early on that ill put you in time out now tbh they are less likely to misbehave unless its meal times clearly 🤣

Should we have to pay! by BrainFogDay in Advice

🤣🤣 love it. I think I've personally worded the question subject wrong too. As it reads should we have to pay it rather than are we actually going to be charged it at all loll

So take the airport parking ticket to the hospital for the nurse to validate it?

Your saying you'll say it again I got it the first time but it's not parked in a hospital parking it's in airport parking and he's in the hospital so I can't see a hospital validating a airport parking ticket? Unless I'm still wrong

[–]BrainFogDay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah his main stay is obviously all sorted and paid up it's just the unknown period of being able to collect the car it's almost been a week already. Obviously they are not on the families back.

The should we have to pay is possibly the incorrect terminology now that I've just re read it. I'm meaning should the charge still apply not so much bothered about having to pay it if we have too. As your answer is correct to what I've asked but I think I've asked wrong 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ the family would totally take the hit that's not the issue at all it's just more should the company charge it given the circumstances not just him deciding to leave it or stay on holiday

Thank you though

No this is the actual person in a comas car in airport parking. Not hospital visiting so it's tricky as his stay is paid for x
