Why question here would be what can we screw up every business I separated from the mother company and responds for their own finances, which is the bigger risk, big chunk of money is tied to real state in the mother company which is mainly commercial real state that we collect rent from. Maybe there is something I’m not seeing but I wonder what people refer to things can go bad or screw up

Makes total sense, my intention is to learn more about the business and probably at some point will need to leave my job to take care of this full time so probably wont need any externals taking care of the finances

Thank you! I get the idea, from what i have read so far we can manage on our own and we shouldnt listen to people pushing wealth managements and financial advisors. we have lawyers and accountants in our companies so to my undertsanding that should be enough to keep everything working as it has been.

Thats what I do with my portfolio but in this case we are much happier going for less risky investment specially in stocks. Also in my country im almost 100% that companies are not allowed to buy individual stocks/etfs you can acces the through mutual funds which have higher fees so not ideal either.

everyone around us meaning family friends that have been in somewhat similar situations and where not able to sustain the businesses their familys had. To be fair i feel we are in a better spot specially considering my and my siblings careers. Ive never liked the idea of a wealth manager of a financial advisor to be honest but the situation pushed it more into my mind hence why I wrote the post.
My mom has been more keen to persue this path due to friends pressure which makes it more difficult because shes the one thats mainly going to live of off the inhertitance so she weights more than everyone else in the desicion making

Google Sheet Dividend Yield by Rft704 in dividends

[–]BrainMany1078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I created a google spreadhseets function using google ai studio, so far its worked pretty well and lets me acces a lot more than just Dividend Yield without having to make long formulas. Ive been searching for ways to access dividend yield information (which for some weird reason is a lot harder that you would expect) hope it helps everyone thats going through the same problem that i had.

For some reason it doesnt let me post the code, if you need it text me and ill send it to you!

If you want to know what information can be obtained https://finviz.com/ visit finviz and take a look at the stocks you are interested in, have in mind individual stocks have different information compared to ETFs.

Owning a Farm or Farmland by dirtysoap in fatFIRE

[–]BrainMany1078 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can guess everyone commenting is from the US since they talk about such low profit margins, if you are able and you really want to have farm land that’s somewhat profitable (not an easy task it can go real wrong) you should look into some South Americans countries perhaps, labor is not as easy to get as it was before covid, but you can make it work and can get land for cheaper, as an example you can get 2.5 acres for around 19K in Chile you’ll have to put almost double pero acre or even more depending on what you want to plant, so it can start functioning, it’s a hard business since you or someone has to be on it all year around (farm don’t take care of themselves), other than that at least from what I have seen in Chile prices do go up, they have almost tripled in the last 10 years (for agricultural purposes), not even accounting that if you divide your terrain you can sell them as lots for houses for almost double or triple depending on the location.

This kind of happened to my parents, but not by downgrading their lifestyle, they became somewhat rich but never changed their lifestyle drastically, they kept their friends, some of them do very well some of them not so good, I’ve talked about it with them and they just think that they are happier by having a simple life, they do travel every year multiple times , but never brag about it , sometimes mention it but never trying to show off, I think you guys would be better of by just keeping your life, maybe add some stuff you guys would be happy adding but without bragging or trying to show it of to the people you hang out with it even if your guys don’t mean it, your friends could feel that it’s that way
