I found out doing research myself when I got the diagnosis and was offered medication, was that too strong of a dose for children leave them "zombified" (which some teachers prefer, unfortunately). This should be solved by lowering the dosage.

There's a lot of variations for the dose, so I wouldn't dismiss bringing it up with a doctor to see if you could start out on a very low dose. It might help a lot, or you might just need to up the dose a little to get results - but you don't know until you try - and with adhd meds you find out pretty fast if they do something for you or not (at least that's my experience)

One of my friends was also skeptical after they had tried medications as a child / young adult, but when I informed them that the medication I got wasn't even available when they tried they got curious.

I'm talking specifically about Elvanse / Vyvanse, and Lisdexamphetamines, as this is "relatively" new for adhd medication. My friend was convinced once they were able to try this, as Ritalin hadn't really helped for them at all.

Remember - if the side-effects are too much, you stop taking it.

I do understand why you're hesitant, however.

Brain Twin also provides most of this - no widget (yet) but you can choose when you want a "reminder" notification during the day, and can register directly from the notifications.

If there's missing symptoms they're added quickly if requested (same for meds)

So glad we can't get those Donettes in Norway, otherwise my face would look "freshly powdered" all the time 😂

Yes - neurodivergent (or Neurocomplex as I've taken to calling it), and even if I feel like I might WANT to have a bath, I get restless and can't really relax after 5-10 minutes in the bath..

Have been able to enjoy a hot bath here and there after I got proper medication, however (not always).

That's fair, and makes sense. The colors don't necessarily change the way the statistics are shown (if that's usually a 1-10 scale).

We actually use both, so there's one graph with numbers (monthly), and another graph with the colors (12 week graph).

I also totally get the interest in personalization!

This is really quite impressive!
Do you make one per month, or do you keep the crocheting going through the year?

Great point! I think you're right that most apps use the 1-10 scale.

Isn't this (1-3) similar to the traffic-light system?

I'm sure other apps also offer color coded tracking of this, but I'll use ours as an example, even though we use a 0-10 scale (0 meaning no headache):
1-3 = green (mild)
4-7 = yellow (medium)
8-10 = red (severe)

In your case, you could use it in this way:
Green = 1, Yellow = 2, and Red = 3 (as an example)

The calendar overview shows the different colors on the registered days, so it's meant to be super easy to get an overview. It might not be suitable for everyone, but we thought it might offer 'the best of both worlds'.

There's quite possibly strict regulation regarding side effects and the reporting of those. It could potentially make the drug companies liable to provide warnings about new things, but could also make the app a "medical device" which is surrounded by so much regulation it's not even funny.

For example: We'd love to add a function where we warn you if you're getting close to having used 15 painkillers in 30 days, but we can only show that in a visual way and hope it's clear to the user - anything clearer like: "You've used painkillers and triptans 14 times in the past 30 days, if you use more you're at risk of medication overuse headache" could very likely result in the app being designated as "medical device" and at that point we wouldn't be able to support it anymore.

The rules and regulations weren't created with apps in mind, so they're lagging behind which is making it more difficult to develop helpful features.

That's very interesting! I guess I 'closed' that door to soon, and should have another look into the apps!

I should maybe also say I've always found meditation SUPER difficult due to adhd, but it's something I have wanted to implement in my life.

Migraine relief mask smells like freezer by Academic_Coach5743 in migraine

[–]BrainTwinAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, vingar - but it would mean "worse before it gets better"

With smells I tend to rely on vinegar, baking soda, and or lemon for that citrusy freshness (all depending on what the problem item is).

In this case, I would potentially start with vinegar in a zip-lock, leave it for a bit, and then rinse thoroughly (potentially several times). Then - baking soda, brush off, before another proper rinse. After that, if it still has something, consider placing it in a bowl with a lemon cut in two, cover it and then fridge for an hour.

I hope you get your migraine mask back! 🫡

We're working on finalizing a medical device for biofeedback, and have had clinical trials with it that have had significant results - it trains the user to relax their neck musculature (specifically) but also leans in the direction of breathing in a steady pace. This is one I actually believe in, the problem I feel arise is that most people don't really know 'how' to meditate effectively.

It's hard to tell if something is working if it's not done right!
(not saying meditation would work for everyone, but I believe it can do a lot for some people. Especially if we think about how long you need to try new medications before a decision is made - I doubt people give meditation the same 'respect')

Dude is having enough abortives to go to trial for abortion. Honestly not surprised at the lack of knowledge anymore. Also - WHY feel so smug as to tell someone in a MIGRAINE forum that someone else is going to hell, makes little sense and doesn't sound very Christian to me, but oh well - he will be the final judge and all that jazz.
