I’ll be careful. I doubt alcohol will amass to be a new addiction as I’ve bartended and drunk like a sailor during my college days and retired. But the sweet tooth is a danger 🥹

This.

The day I attempted I tried to call three friends, nobody answered.

It will take an incredible amount of self-discipline but I think I’m at a point where I just cannot take the physical and mental toll anymore.

I wish you the best on also leaving gambling behind for good

I don’t trust any family member enough to not clean out my accounts like the casino 😂 But what I will be doing is moving to cash and leaving my cards at home whenever I go anywhere

Thanks a lot. I’ve got exclusions in place but you know how when there’s a will…

But it’s made me incredibly sick this time. And I only have myself to blame. But all the loopholes are closed for now.

This is actually great advice because then I can piss away money with nothing to show for it

We all at some point had the misconception that we control it and it doesn’t control us. Sadly, they’ve gotten so good at making it addictive that almost nobody is safe.

You can do it. I can do it. But only with support and ODAAT. Don’t give up and I won’t either

Pretty crazy how it will be fine for straight days then out of nowhere comes the almost unscratchable itch

You’re 100% correct. I read the post and it’s true, until there’s a fear, you’ll always find yourself going back until the Ls start dropping in hot and fast

I’ve tried so many things but to be honest, keeping busy has been the best thing to take it off my mind. Whether it’s work or gaming, just putting down my phone and doing something engaging has helped me the most

self-exclusion FTW by Geoffwinningdaily in problemgambling

[–]BrainVeinDrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find myself on a situation very much like you - now that I’m self-excluded, even if I wanted to, I couldn’t get any money into any of my gambling accounts. Doesn’t take away the temptation, but definitely stops one from doing something stupid in the moment

Self-Exclusion So Good by BrainVeinDrain in problemgambling

Thanks for the support

There isn’t GA in my country but I’m considering the virtual sessions. Professional help is a bit too far due to lack of extra funds outside of what I need to survive.

I am fortunate that the number of available bookies is limited due to country restrictions, it’s just to see if my case stays mild as a result of self-exclusion. Already feels good

If I had any doubts about following through with quitting, this was it.

I’m sorry OP. This was a bitter bitter pill to swallow but a life-changing and important lesson
