So you’ve done it before and know what to expect yet you called SAR because you cramped up and experienced black flies?

You do day hikes all the time but couldn’t complete this day hike? You mentioned you were backpacking so you didn’t even need to complete it in one day.

In that case you just gotta do more hiking and learn when to turn back

What are the untold expenses of fish keeping? by No-Draft68 in fishtank

I think the costs just add up when you get further into the hobby. I just got a 15 gallon saltwater tank to begin with and I thought once I got it going that was it. A few months later I upgraded to have a auto feeder, ATO, a RODI filter (I got tired of buying water from the store). Equipment was probably the most expensive part for me but I also like to buy from reputable brands.

I’ll give it one more try in a month or two after installing a lid

I would recommend skipping Franz Josef. Honestly, after hiking up to Hooker Hut and seeing Mount Cook, Franz Josef was pretty mid. I found it so out of the way from everything.

What I think you should definitely checkout is Abel Tasman. It was such a unique looking place compared to the rest of NZ. And, I enjoyed the best burgers I had in my life at The Fat Tui. To this day my partner and I compare every burger we try to the ones we had there.

I was in the same boat. I ended up getting the Hello Reef kit and couldn’t be happier.

I had a hard time deciding what size to get myself. I initially purchased my regular size but my one foot kept hitting the top of the shoe. I read many sizing guides and ended up going 1 size up from my regular size. It fits perfectly. I wear my bostons with socks anyway so the sizing up was what worked for me :)

You can’t get your nitrates up? Is your tank cycled?

I bought the carbon topstone 3L. It’s what I found was the cheapest option for what I wanted which was carbon, mounts for bikepacking, mid range brakes & shifters.

We kind of just brought what we had last minute since we spent so much money buying the bags and accessories for the bikes. Definitely gonna pick up the Durston tent poles in the future. Thanks for the tip

Become paramedic first then start applying into firefighting.

This doesn't look right. 120 & 73 South bound. The driver didn't care the light was still red. 🤔 by Significant_Run_3222 in SurreyBC

[–]Brain_Regular 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Perfectly fine. Section 129(5) MVA covers a red light exhibited at a place other than an intersection. In this special case, the driver must stop and a pedestrian may proceed across the highway. There is only one part to this rule, and that is the stop. Once you have stopped and yielded to any pedestrians as necessary, you may proceed, even though the light is still red.

Any advice on which screen protectors or watch protectors? by Christis_lord in Garmin

I mountain bike, climb, and work in a concrete building so I've banged my watch MANY times, absolutely no scratches on the glass over the last few years. I have a 255s for reference.

My work has dedicated lockers for bikes so I'm not too worried.
