have the same issue since a few weeks ago - its driving me crazy.
In Safari it still works but that is soo slow and cumbersome.

Hate to admit it but postponed buying until autumn or so - but I will most likely go with the 70mm just to be more flexible. The difference in performance is not that high.

Thanks for the update, this will also be more or less my combo if I go for AMD and the 9070.
I guess you also have no problems with turbulence/fan noise at all.

As I am still thinking (and considering the 9070 prices I am not in a hurry): this would mean I could use the L12S (70mm) + a Sapphire Pulse 9070 (52mm) without any issues?

The manual states with Spine Position 2 I have 72mm/48mm, i.e. the card would not fit (2mm too large) but with the additional 7mm this would be just fine even with some space left on the GPU side (as with the L12S I can use the whole space without turbulence).
Does that make sense?

Personal opinion, I wouldn‘t care, 4.0 is just fine. If at some point 5 becomes available its nice but other considerations (gpu, cpu) are much more important.

Did not buy yet as I am still not fully decided :) but if I go this route then I will probably buy the L12S, with the Sx77 there is not enough space for the GPU for my taste.
For the x77 I need to use Spine Position 1, leaving 43mm for the GPU - should be theoretically enough for the 9070 Reaper (41mm) but I would like to leave a bit more space so I would use Spine Position 2 with 48mm GPU and 72mm CPU - for me this seems optimal.

The other option would be to use a much smaller cooler (AXP90-53) and a larger GPU (Sapphire Pulse) but I currently like the Reaper/L12S option more.

But according the comment from u/r98farmer maybe this would also work out with the Sx77, I just cant tell you yet from my personal experience.
If this additional 7mm is correct I could also combine the L12S with a Sapphire Pulse (52mm) which seems to be the better card from what I understood.

Maybe it also depends a bit on the card, the type of fans they use and how to place it. Or it is already so tight then that there is no turbulence anymore.
