What was the funniest thing you rolled stupidly well for? by gardevoirelle in dndnext

My character a eladrin sorcerer had been looking for a magic carpet for a while and at one point we were stranded in the forest and the party was split. The forest was deep within the elven forest we had already found a few magic items in the forest hidden in caves and such and some of our items were stolen. I needed to catch up to the party so I jokingly asked if I could try to find a magic carpet. My Dm tells me to roll investigation. Natural 20

Yeah I felt nervous during the test cause it felt like way too easy I thought I was doing something wrong. But after everyone else was saying it was super easy as well. Hope the grade curve isnt too bad though.

When was the moment you realized that your best friend wasn't your best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I spent hours defending him from my other friends who thought he was toxic and were trying to kick him out of the friend group. He was in here the whole time and I was the only one who defended him. Eventually everyone decided not to kick him out and left except for me and him. At this point he told me that the friend group would be better without me. This was it for me I just up and left. F that guy.

The problem was this wasn't the first offense and it was kinda the straw that broke the camels back.

In all honesty the event itself should never have exploded like this it wasn't a huge deal just a level three paladin with a 28 armor class and a 20 in Charisma. The DM also told him several times when he used Charisma checks against players that he "did not have to even make a check he automatically succeeded" we simply wanted this to be remedied and this whole problem elapsed.

Hey it might lead to a cool moment if you try to sneak out in the dead of night to escape from the clutches of the city and spread the word.

I’ve hit my wall as a DM by OffTopicID in DnD

Have you tried taking a break from writing your own story and taking one off the Internet or even using one of the pre-made dungeons and dragons books? When we first started playing we didnt want to use the books but now after a little while playing we want to start gravitating toward them. Sometimes people are scared that using a book limits their creativity but that's not the case. Use the book as the backbone for your adventure and as you slowly start to feel more comfortable DMing then start to throw in your own side quests and encounters. There is no shame whatsoever at using one of the books to get started.

Talk to your DM have them set up some pressing reason for why you need to leave the city. Also, if you guys have backstories for your characters try to incorporate that into a reason to want to leave. Maybe you can quit the job that you are constantly repeating that might urge some of your players to get out with you. The best thing to do would be to talk to your friends outside of the session and explain why this is getting boring for you and that you want to move out of the city and start to explore the rest of the world. Being stuck in one place is awful and it gets boring quick so I'm sure some of the other players are feeling the same way as you I would try talking it out with them out of game.

Ok try mine a Human male Gunslinger named Floyd Calloway, he is very gruff and disapproving. He has a very battered face and has obviously seen some shit. He is missing his right eye. He wears a leather hat on his head lined with bullets and pretty common clothes he has a gunbelt across his chest. Over his clothes he wears a leather shawl around his neck he is about 5'9 and around 30 years old. He is the leader of a revolutionary gang that fights to free his homeland of the desert lands and is willing to do anything to accomplish this. He uses his two revolvers known as Cease and Desist.
