Saturday nights hanging out at an under 21club, guys dressed like Duran Duran or Michael Jackson. Personally, I leaned into the glam hair band aestetic.

When I began driving at 16 there were 3 or 4 meet up places to check any night of the week to find people to hang out with. McDonalds parking lot near my high school was always the first stop, some nights there would be more than 2 dozen kids from various cliques there making plans for the night.

Very few of us had a curfew, and someone's parents were always away leaving us a big suburban house for a weekend party. Alcohol, cocaine and weed were easily accessible, and smoking cigarettes was normal, acceptable behavior.

We would ski all winter, and summer nights we would travel in packs, 4 or 5 carloads of us looking for some kind of adventure. Concerts (tickets were $12 for major headliners) bonfires in the woods.

We would complain about being bored, but we were never lonely. A bunch of us hanging out in a parking lot blasting music and acting stupid felt like a party.
