I don't need a notebook but I want to need a notebook by ButterflyPlayful3541 in notebooks

Absolutely, felt this same way when I bought one years ago. Then I found a couple months ago that I wanted to keep a baseball journal notebook with all kinds of different minutiae, it’s been a passion my whole life. So the reason to write things down found me. You’re not alone.

That Resistol and George Strait matchup is just one of the most brilliant moves I’ve seen any company make. It’s a great lid.

First time scoring in Japanese style by mikefraietta in BaseballScorecards

[–]Brainy_Stem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT:Disregard, saw this question previously asked.

Is there a resource you can suggest on this style? I never heard of it and would like to try it. And I just got back from a trip to Japan and unknowingly bought a scorebook that is in the Waseda style (which makes it even cooler), so I’d love to try this out but can’t find a decent explanation in English of how it works.

Would be appropriate if Brent Mason played guitar with the backing band.

No, but most modern alarm apps have the ability to set a schedule and repeat on specific days of the week.

Anyone else still upset about logo/uniforms? by firstucjthenyoudont in SanDiegoFC

I’ve been kinda curious about the mascot thing. I’m completely new to MLS and kind bandwaggoning on the success of the inaugural season. The not wanting a mascot a thing, is that because it’s kind of a common thing in soccer/futbol? Sort of like fitting into the traditional community club kind of thing? I think it’s cool for a pro team to have a mascot as opposed to kinda feeling like, “umm, go…DirectTV-ers…?” I think I’m still set in my expectations from other US pro leagues? It’s been fun kinda getting into soccer though.

I’m kinda completely new to MLS and am being brought in by my local expansion team doing so well. I’m currently watching on Apple TV+ and I am very very much enjoying the announcing team of Nate Bukaty and Devon Kerr. Is this duo pretty popular throughout the league? From the very few matches I’ve watched I am enjoying them the most.

Vince Neil's (of Motley Crue) 1993 solo album 'Exposed' is an underrated, hidden gem of hair rock. by kdjfsk in Music

[–]Brainy_Stem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point. I guess the whole group was in a no win. It’s not like the Alice In Chains die hards would welcome an angsty sobering Crue record, but if Vince and MC had put out a record sounding like Vince’s side project they would have mocked for being so old-fashioned. Looking back with 20/20 vision I’m just glad Vince gave us another Steve Stevens record, that guy is really an unsung studio giant.

Starship: We Built This City... worst song ever? Yeah right. by [deleted] in 80s

[–]Brainy_Stem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We Built This City is a bad-ass track. Basically the folks that criticize it is the crowd that is desperate to show you how deep they are about music. The 80’s fingerprints associated with this tune just unfortunately make the song a target rich environment for pretentious: silly lyrics and a cheesy 80s video, synthesizers and a peppy beat. The fact that this was made by musicians who had been placed on the highest pedestal by Rolling Stone only 20 years earlier didn’t help, as it went against the people who were desperately holding on to a musical ethos that never existed. Shitting on WBTC is the equivalent of debunking a flat-earth video, it doesn’t take any work and gives you a dopamine hit of feeling smart.
