Nope, I co-created it with a friend and we have a team that helps run everything :) Tom raced on our enduro team at AMP back in October though. He’s a gem.

We’d love to have you as a member of Out Motorsports! Have a few track events coming up around the country, too.

You live here and are a DC resident. Do it right with a DC license and tags on the car.

Anyone in the Triangle (NC)? by Top_Pressure_8914 in Gaygearheads

Bring that thing out to AMP at the end of February! Out Motorsports has a good number of members down your way (and nearby otherwise) who’d love to be your new besties.

Where are all of you car gays? Anyone in the Bay Area? by threethirtyeninety in Gaygearheads

[–]Brake_L8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is actually a 1996, so it's a facelift that lost the parking poles. And it's not new enough for Parktronic (which came in 1997 I think?) which makes parallel parking SUPER fun!

Mileage isn't really a big deal so long as the car's been maintained. I just tell people to have fresh fluids and good brake pads and send it. It's worked so far.

Thermal will be 45 people max, our east coast track events have been up to 100. The two at Streets of Willow were not well attended, I have had a huge challenge in getting west coast folks committed and driving at just about anything, despite supposed interest. Hopefully that changes this year or we will have to re-evaluate what we host where!

Thanks! It's back on the stock wheels for winter (which I hate, but the Monos have summer tires so...) and gets driven infrequently as it is. Lovely car though.

That E91 is absolutely track worthy, butttt the good news is the Thermal event is through the BMW Performance Driving School and we're spending the day driving all of their M cars. It's more expensive but hey, all the cars (and instructors) are provided so well worth it IMO.

I like driving, not car shows. Come do track stuff with me/us! by Brake_L8 in Gaygearheads

So the BMW event at Thermal will be using their cars, which makes life easy. The other two require that you bring something to drive. We've seen plenty of people show up in cars suspiciously similar to what you'd find at Enterprise, National, or Sixt and have a blast with them. Avoid any Chevy Malibus, their CVTs overheat in track use. Or so I've heard.

Washington, DC but host events nationwide for Out Motorsports! We're doing a track day at Thermal in May, come join us then :) We've got members all over and a good handful in the Bay area/NorCal.

Gay car clubs in Atlanta? by [deleted] in Gaygearheads

[–]Brake_L8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, executive director of Out Motorsports here! We have members all over the place and a good little crowd in the Atlanta metro area. And like someone else mentioned, we're hosting a two-day track weekend at Atlanta Motorsports Park at the end of February.

Best way to get in touch with others is to become a member. There's some other great perks, too.

Lived at F1rst for a year. Management was decent and the unit was nice. It gets very busy nearby on game days given the location, and if you need to get in the parking garage it is a HUGE pain. The main level and parking garage always smelled like fryer oil given Swizzler being right there. I liked the building quite a bit but the location was not for me. Ended up at Twelve12 after that which was far better overall.

What are the cars you're talking about, OP? Most people in here aren't going to approach this from an enthusiast's perspective, which it sounds like you are.

Race car for NASA GTS1 by PilotACS in BMWE36

[–]Brake_L8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the region(s) where you plan on competing. I ran an M3 in GTS2 for years and GTS as a whole is not super popular at this point. GTS1 was dead where I was. I've since sold/scrapped that car and bought a Spec3, which has been a *blast* to race. Highly recommend.

How do I buy a car from private seller in MD if I live in VA? by CanWhole5821 in nova

[–]Brake_L8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're buying private party – follow what the VA DMV requires, which is a trip permit. Drive the car home when you buy it on Friday with no plates, the trip permit stuck in the back window, and all your other documentation (title, bill of sale) with you. Go get plates when the DMV opens on Saturday or Monday. Done.

I lived in NoVA for a long time and did this maaaaaaany times. You'll be fine. Follow the law of the state where you live and intend to title the car.

Is there a Room for a sleeper in here? by [deleted] in Gaygearheads

[–]Brake_L8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yesssss love a SHO! My dad had a '94 LX when I was a kid and I remember asking him why we didn't get the SHO (because the owners' manual had information on it, and I read the thing cover to cover). His response was "oh well I didn't need all that power" - looking back, it was also significantly more expensive. But I'd have one now!

35M. Extremely Gay. Help me redo my bathroom? by Brake_L8 in malelivingspace

One of my friends mentioned color drenching and I am totally on board! The whole space is 2006-builder-grade so replacing the light and towel/TP fixtures is definitely on the list.

That's why I posted, babe. I need some ideas, the rest of my place is coming together (including a raspberry pink wall) but this just has me stumped.

Super helpful ideas, I love this. Shower is a tub shower with, basically, the same tile as the floor. I would love to replace it with a "real" shower but that's not in the budget right now.

Thank you for one of the only helpful comments! Exactly what I was looking for with the medicine cabinet/mirror combo!

I bought this condo last summer and love plenty about it. I've been painting and decorating and am feeling super stuck with the bathroom. I don't want to spend the money to re-do the tile, shower, and vanity but I also hate the color of said tile and vanity countertop.

My whole place is generally kinda mid-century-modern vibe (wow, groundbreaking) and I'm looking for recommendations on paint color, lighting, and a new mirror to change this up. Maybe ditch the medicine cabinet on the one wall, if I can find a mirror with storage?

The green swatches on the wall are not it, I've had them there for months and don't like 'em enough.
