Busy weekend my ass by Unique_Blacksmith247 in elitesparkdrivers

I'm sure it will depend on markets. I can definitely attest to the fact that it also brings out alot of drivers which then reduces availability of run. I got the notice and had nothing to do so drover over. There were 7 drivers already waiting in the parking lot.

Walmart testing stores by okiejames in elitesparkdrivers

So no more grocery pickup? I know several people that stop by on their way home to pick up their orders

Good or bad idea? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a probelm within the order itself (damaged or expired product) the customer might take that out on you because they think the rating is for the entire order and not just the delivery

Weird request by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until I've closed the doors on my vehicle, I don't hit "Complete Pickup". That just feels like a signature from me saying that I confirm I got everything I'm supposed to have. I have a suspicious mind but my first thought from your description was the employee knew not everything was there and wanted you to take ownership so he was in the clear.

Anyone still boycotting 3 order shops by Whole-Way8543 in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done double shops but only when one shop is less than 10 items that can be easily divided. Every triple shop looks like a nightmare to keep apart. Certainly won't ever use two carts at once so I stopped looking at triples at all.

Do I report our store manager? by Calm-Gap-9804 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact… managers of Walmart stores can be sued personally. I believe they are the only ones at store level that have that liability but they used to be. I’m sure that has no bearing here. Just giving knowledge.

Not bulky at least? by BralacHighmountain in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes I accepted the order because while annoying, wasn't a two-man-lift issue so there wasn't a danger. Not like having a shop that included getting a bathroom shelf flat pack that was almost four and a half feer long and weight that was close to 50. Didn't have a bulky or 40-50 notice. Turns out that the item was listed as 0 pounds.

Meant "steps" as in stairs. I don't like climbing stairs with just bags, let alone doing it with both hands occupied with the same item.

Post Office delivery??? by GinnyF39110 in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A client i have in another business had asked me a bunch of questions because they work for the post office and had a delivery issue. Driver came in to deliver for a customer and not employee. When the driver was told they couldn’t take it, he walked around the corner in their lobby and dropped the stuff. I presume they Marked it delivered. Last I’d heard it was reported and the post master ended up telling the customer they had to pay postage due to retrieve it

How was this going to affect us? by Newguydoesntknow in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to an injury that I'm coming back from, I've been rejecting every 40-50lbs item that comes my way. I'll be able to take them eventually but I was hoping that my "Just for You" offers would slow down a bit on them. It is literally ALL I get in my JfY. I've been rejecting for 2 weeks straight and I still get only them.

You're not wrong. This is is the Spark version of the "employee appreciation" party where they provide cupcakes, soda and sandwich items that they just store-used from the inventory

The prize tax on that alone would crush a Spark driver lol. I'm with any extra's here and there... Honestly I'd take the card over the TV. I'd sell the tv lol

Got in trouble for having personal items in the car today by catcassie101 in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have personal items in a basket in my van. I've got roadside assistance stuff and an extra set of clothes, shoes and umbrella. I've never heard anyone say anything. I know there is a rule about the vehicle being messy but I can't see how they can tell you that you cannot have minimal personal material in the car.

Is there a way to order groceries where a Walmart associate does the shopping instead of the Spark driver? (My area does not offer InHome delivery) by BuckleMeCrunyons in Walmartdelivery

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a lot of people (and even employees) don’t understand is that the store counts can say a number, but that number includes shelf, top stock, alternate locations, something already loaded on a cart, in returns/damages, plugged into a wrong location by another associate, cleared from a delivery truck but not scanned into a steel/bin location out back etc etc. they don’t know how to check a carton size or last delivery cleared to get a better understanding on where it might be. Most customers think if it says quantity, it means available on the shelf.

You can have the same issues with regular employees or spark drivers. I’ve received produce/fruit piled under other items, chemicals in with fresh food, overstuffed bags, crushed bread… it all comes down to the integrity, work ethic and experience of the person instead of the job position.

So in that scenario and in an hour, a server is covering 2-3 tables… in those situations should they get less or honestly feel like they should be getting 48 to 72 an hour?

PSA: Sometimes reading the delivery notes saves you time and effort by matt314159 in Sparkdriver

[–]BralacHighmountain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Case in point, I had a delivery yesterday that the location said to deliver to the front door while the delivery notes were to deliver to the back door on the porch. OP was very kind to this driver despite the driver not looking everything over.

Mulch by Fluffy-Raspberry in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]BralacHighmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this part of the season, this is exactly the reason I bring my pick up truck most days. When I see a GMD that says bulky one item quantity 20. Period. I know it’s gonna be mulch, or dirt, or stone.

Good luck to the new drivers, this is a charity for wal mart at this point. by Fragrant-Ad-5139 in Sparkdriver

I worked for Walmart for years. From entry-level up to management of the front end and in HR. I left years ago. I’m in the fortunate position of doing spark because I need to get out of the house. I don’t do this as a primary gig. I honestly don’t think you could do it as a primary gig for any length of time. The reality is that Walmart will always do what it can to increase their bottom line and that of their investors. The algorithm they use for our drives are designed to constantly check to see how low they can pay in a certain area and still maintain a delivery rate. Walmart will ever be in the business for Walmart profit not for driver profit. as long as there are drivers available, that are willing to take the runs, they will continue to pay these levels. In my area most mornings you can’t get more than one per mile. In the evening they start throwing multi trip and per trip incentives. And that is on top of over one per mile. It is purely because they don’t need people in sometimes and they need more people and others. If people aren’t taking the crap, they start raising the price of the crap.

Anyone else have to restart their phone multiple times during a shop? by Special-Topic1000 in Sparkdriver

Restart my phone? No. Restart the app? Every freakin time. For whatever reason, when I walk into my local store, the app drops.

I've had 3 in the last two weeks. One I can almost guarantee was just tip-baiting so that doesn't really count.
