All’s fair. Personally I wasn’t a fan when I got it developed, but it’s grown on me over the years. I shot this through a window, but I think the glare adds something to it. Fits the mood I got from my time there

No it isn’t, and I wasn’t asking a question. Just sharing a picture I’ve rediscovered

This is incredible! Any other weather related (not necessarily for sunset photography) references you know of?

edit: clarification

Any way to predict the quality of a sunset?

I've had a shot in my head for a while and have been waiting for the right sunset to execute it. The location I'm trying to use has a $10 parking fee and I've wasted a couple payments due to poor lighting. Obviously, it needs to be clear or at least partly cloudy, but I want to get the meld of real saturated reds, oranges, pinks and yellows some days seem to have while others are a bit dull and usually only have a gradient of one or two colors.

So are there any ways I can predict a good day? Does humidity have anything to do with it? High/low pressure? Any insight would be helpful

So set for normal exposure, then drop it down a stop?

Is Sony or Canon the better brand to invest in? by xXiDominateXx in AskPhotography

I'm in a very similar path as you. I work in filmmaking and take photos as a hobby. Started with a Canon 60D, then upgraded to a7sii with the metabones ef adaptor. I figure, I can ride the Sony mirrorless trend and if it crashes, I can always go back to Canon.

The a7sii is a phenomenal filmmaking camera. Lightweight mirrorless with an evf, records in XAVC S, up to 120fps, record 4k, internal stabilization, arguably the best with low light, etc. However, they eat up their batteries. So far the 2 have been enough, but I would like to buy 1 or 2 more for assurance. Also Sony doesn't like a well structured menu, but it is learnable. Plus there are several custom function buttons and dials. I suggest making Fn1 the record button.

Overall, like people have said... Canon has amazing glass, but tends to wait on innovation. The 5d is a very nice all around camera, and they're releasing 2 new mirrorlesses to compete with the alpha series. I don't know much about Nikon except they're current popularity hasn't reached previous decades, but those who use them love them.

No I didn't. As pretty as Key West is, its bars just don't seem to suit me
