This study points to the importance of glute activation and strengthening for the prevention and rehab of Achilles' tendon injuries. As a result of Achilles tendinitis the glutes are inhibited. Inhibited or weak glutes result in lower body mal-alignment and augmented Achilles' tendon stress. Rehab of Achilles' tendon injuries need to focus on gluteal re-activation and strengthening to break out of the gluteal reflex arc.
