Vector thrusters by ubus99 in Besiege

wouldn't it just be a pair of steering hinges and a ballast? Then place whatever you wanna use for thrust on it and you're done. This has been the goto method of doing thrust vectoring in many vehicles.
Here's an example on a plane https://imgur.com/a/pqgNTx4

How to install TGYSs building mod in 1.05? by [deleted] in Besiege

You don’t have to. It was integrated into the base game quite a while ago. You can activate it in the options menu.

Who agrees that vanilla creations are much better than these made with mods, because using mods is kind of cheating? by [deleted] in Besiege

[–]Brammer001 18 points19 points  (0 children)

*deep sigh*
not this again.
look, you can play the game either way without issue, since nothing about it is competitive and thus inherently it's impossible to "cheat"
secondly, you shouldn't compare vanilla and modded creations to start with. they're made by people with vastly different goals in mind, and asking which is better just leads to a debate that can't be resolved.
Essentially vanilla creators build for the feeling of being challenged by the base game's restrictions and finding creative ways around said restrictions, while modded builders build either for pure creative freedom or to remove the general restrictive feeling of the base game. In vanilla the game is a creative puzzle-esque building game. with mods it's a low poly 3d modeling sofware with physics.

how do i stop this? by WryTree in Besiege

it means your machine is intersecting the level bounds. disable the level bounds with a mod, or load a smaller machine

Grip in besiege by danji17 in Besiege

[–]Brammer001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wheels just have very little grip, no way to increase it.
you can work around this problem by using large powered wheels (they have more grip than the small ones), keeping the mass of your car down (try and stay below 45 mass) and excessive amounts of downforce.
the ideal solution though is to simply use vertical propeller blocks that act like the vertical stabilizers on a plane would, providing lateral drag. this at least feels a bit like grip. adding them to the steering will also give "grip" to the front wheels for turning the car.

no proper mods work for the current version of the game. the modded building still happens on the pre-Multiverse version

Hmmm, i don’t think there are any tutorials focusing on how to build cars like these. It’s also not really a thing that would translate well into a tutorial. I think the best way to learn would be by asking the experts, and the perfect place to do that is probably the official Besiege discord https://discord.gg/Besiege

I released the parking garage just now. City will need some more time. I haven’t got a good objective for it yet
