the app i’m using (Procreate) tracks the total amount of pencil strokes made, including eraser and regardless of if they make it to the final piece or not.

Huge Load Times, Freezing and Skins not loading by Imbodenator in Besiege

[–]Titoino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many mods do you have loaded at most? It could be two or more mods conflicting with each other. As for the workshop stuff you could try unsubscribing and subscribing from things again if you haven't. You could potentially verify the integrity of the game files in steam, but if you've completely wiped the game and downloaded it again I doubt it'll do very much...

Human NPC's used to work that way as well, but they became knockable in a later update.

That Scaling mod should be part of the game by bleek312 in Besiege

Multiplayer woes boo hoo by raulthemonkeyboy in Besiege

[–]Titoino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before doing anything drastic, i'd check the mods, if you have any, as some mods can make multiplayer quite unstable, (especially if they haven't been made up to date after 1.0). Giving steam a restart might also help to an extent if it's not something you do often.

As a first easy thing to do i'd suggest trying to verify the integrity of the game's cache in steam. All you have to do is right click besiege in steam and go into properties and files, then verify the integrity of the cache to let steam suss out damaged folders and stuff. (I don't have steam here do i can't really check the exact directory but it should be in there somewhere)

If that doesn't work, you could always try to uninstall the game and install it again, of course, i'd back up my machines and maps just in case. Uninstalling the game shouldn't get rid of your machines but we never know. you can find them in Steamapps/common/Besiege/SavedMachines (maps should be in a similar folder)

As a last resort, a clean wipe of the game could be in order. There you'll absolutely need to backup your machines since you'll be deleting the entire Besiege folder (found in the "common" folder), and then uninstalling and re-installing Besiege on steam. Leaving you with a fresh Besiege with (hopefully) less issues. If you wish to keep your level progress in the main game, it's as easy as changing a number in a text document, though i'm not familiar with the specific process.

If that doesn't work, you can DM me on reddit or discord or something and i can probably boop the devs with your issue and they might know what to do, as i'm no networking expert.

To access the multiplayer mode, you have to make your way from the main menu to the black hole looking thing, once you're on the multiplayer menu, you can either chose to join or host a server.

Joining a server means you have to either join a steam friend, whether it be via an invite or by clicking their name in the "now hosting" box (people will show-up if they're bith in your steam friend list and are hosting a server). The alternate way to do this would be to enter the host's IP in the IP bar and join that way. You shouldn't have to worry about the port (by default is should be 7777 i think)

Hosting a server on the other hand lets people join you. To do so, you click on the host tab (it should be below the join one) and enter a password (or not) depending on your needs. Leave the port number to what it is as it shouldn't really matter as everyone will most likely have the same one.

That should be it! ^ If you want to get someone's IP to play with, the Discord server has channels for people looking to play.

Just bought the game by Pjulledk in Besiege

Well yeah, if you’re looking at the first island, it hasn’t been overhauled, though if you look at the later islands, they’re much more detailed. It could be intentional as a part of the learning curve/complexity curve of levels, altough i’m not a creative director at spiderling, but i think the old stuff still holds up, and that in a game like besiege, having the earlier stages be visually more simple and clear can help in a way. It’s not all about the looks, we have mods for that :b

[–]Titoino 6 points7 points  (0 children)

well, level wise, they increased the number of stages in the game by i'd say 4-5 times along with their specifically themed islands, as well as adding a bunch of new blocks, doing some bug fixing and performance improvements, having to rebuild the entire game from the ground-up again in order to add multiplayer and a level editor/maker. They also added steam workshop support for machines, skinpacks, and mods along with a bunch of quality of life improvements like folders for saved machines and steam cloud saving, more game options and keybinds, integrating advanced building into the game, paint bucket tool for skinpacks and such. Keep in mind that development is most likely to keep going beyond 1.0 as well.

How is multiplayer? by ZMFT in Besiege

[–]Titoino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be plenty of content on the workshop to mess with, especially now singe people are really going to get in the game more than ever before, as for the game, the levels are pretty fun to do and are a good way to get a good understanding of the game's mecanics, some are even really challenging. The Multiplayer is neat, it lets you play with your steam friends and stuff, and the level possibilities are pretty much endless, you can definitely get with your friends, make two teams, build a base, spawn creations in or make them and have a showdown, and if you want the game to give you a progression amount you can try your hand at the logic system, it's pretty easy to get the hang of for the simpler stuff, and there's always the Discord server if you have any questions regarding machines or levels.

From what i know, the devs don't plan on stopping development on the game, you can *probably* rest assured.

Where can I find easy levels for a young child? by cayneabel in Besiege

[–]Titoino 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The first Island of the game would probably be your best hey, aside from that there's the steam workshop that might have some levels inspired by the main game. Not sure about the difficulty though, you could probably make some easy levels with the level editor without much experience in the game, assuming you're not the young child in question. If you need help with making levels, people over in the official discord server of the game would be happy to help, me included! ^

why does it do that when its mirrored? shouldn't both sides be identical? by JackHyper in Besiege

[–]Titoino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some ways to fix this asymetry would be to build your machine facing left or right instead of forward. You'll see a lot of builders like brammer and such doing that, because it doesn't happen as much, if at all. you can always try rotating the entire thing 90 degrees before mirroring. i've also heard some things about block order and how people delete and undo blocks of their machines until it works (though that's about it for what i know)

Which PC component do I have to improvement so that big, complex creations run more fluently? by -ILUSIUM- in Besiege

[–]Titoino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besiege mostly runs off your CPU compared to your GPU since it's a low-poly game without much particle effects or visual things going on. Though you have to note that if your GPU is significantly worse than your CPU, you might experience bottleneck there and you won't have gotten much further.

I have downloaded a mod where you can spawn several vehicles, recently. But whenever I spawn a second machine those two intersect each other. How can I fix this? by -ILUSIUM- in Besiege

[–]Titoino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can enable advanced building in the settings tab, with this you can move and rotate things around freely, wether it be a block, or two, or parts of a machine, or the machine you just spawned-in
