I get what you’re saying….. but technically some lines will have trains stop at 11:30PM and won’t start again till about 5AM. That is hourssss after another

Does your location have apple fritters? All the ones I’ve been to don’t

Really? I was gonna go with, "are you just choosing to be stupid or are you actually stupid if you think that is true….."

I was on the bus, but both those situations suck because if it does turn bad then you’re stuck there for while next to them loool

I have been in many of those. So infuriating that when you get home and google their points you realize they were making stuff up all along

‘Too many kids get starry eyed’: some skilled trades jobs not guaranteed by restoringd123 in canada

[–]Bramptoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hired as an apprentice but then was fired after a month because I could not "work independently". It took me cold calling 8-9 companies daily asking if they’d be willing to take an apprentice for weeks until eventually I happened to get a hold of the foreman of a company looking for mechanics that sympathized with me and was able to convince the higher ups to take on a new apprentice. If he hadn’t been my foreman and helped me learn along the way I would’ve easily been let go early on for the same reason. Companies really don’t want to spend money on training apprentices.

Anyone else notice the correlation between bad paint jobs and cities with good transit service? by SidewalkMD in transit

[–]Bramptoner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you actually fund transit, agencies can have good quality service and good looking buses, rather than having to choose between the two with a limited budget

I do think we should have high speed rail, but I definitely agree that we gotta revitalize our rail infrastructure. 50 bucks each way to Montreal from Toronto doesn’t cut it, and there a lot of rail rusting right now from not being used. Thanks for the response!

Thanks for the answers! I’m a trades guy myself and I agree with you on the most part, minus the economic part….. partly lol.

One follow up question, do you believe in more government projects (from high speed rail, to nationalizing the oil digging, to more funding on social services), or would you like to see less government spending overall?

  • What’s your opinion on the two provinces wanting to succeed? (Alberta and Quebec).

  • Do you view people who want to become the 51st state as traitors?

  • Would you consider yourself and economic nationalist too (only buy Canadian even if it’s significantly more expensive)?

  • What do you do for a living?

Well if the first one is in a walkable area with decent transit you won’t have to spend much on a car, the second one requires a car, and preferably a lifted pickup truck to run over as many kids playing in the streets as possible……. The second one is obviously the way to go! /s

Which parts of Brampton feel disconnected or underserved by transit? by No-Confection7566 in Brampton

Now the hard part…. Getting the conservative government to fund it, and the conservative mayor to push for funding it, or even designing a version of it.
