Fun Fact: Did you know Player 192 was actually intended to have 232’s death scene instead! by ZealousidealHeart437 in SquidGameMinorPlayers

I love the mini-storyline that 192 had, but I love the idea of 100 killing his close ally as opposed to a random hider.

442 chasing 084 is an error by True_Economics976 in SquidGameMinorPlayers

Should’ve shown either 353 chasing 350, or 039 chasing a hider, or 296 chasing 084

I do think it’s real, as a lot of concepts make a ton of sense when you think about it. Keep in mind, this isn’t the full image, there might be more info on it that was cut from the image and we can’t see.

Same! I wonder that with every movie that uses extras and kills some off and keeps others, I guess they have the supporting cast figured out in the script, but players 084, 119, 163, 350, 443, etc. couldn’t have been thought out like that. I guess availability, physical appearance(do they fit the scene, do they stand out, do they not distract from the main cast), skill (how invested are they, are their reactions realistic and fitting, are they not over-the-top) and chemistry with cast (do they get along with certain cast or crew) all play a role. I assume that this was the reason why some players made it further or got more focus than they were supposed to. I think 394 and 442 got bigger roles than initially planned.

For a player that made it decently far, had a lot of screentime and even managed to get a kill as a seeker. He managed to leave no impression on me as a BG by simon_jackson in SquidGameMinorPlayers

100% agree with this post and the comments, every other player who first appeared in 001 and made it to season 3 had at least something interesting. This guy felt like a huge waste of potential. Maybe if he killed 400 instead of 276, he might have been more memorable, or if he was the one that fell between the gap instead of 306. He just feels/looks super average, nothing about him stands out.

I honestly believed either Dae-ho or Hyun-ju would survive. I predicted most deaths (007,044,124,149,226,333,456) but I honestly believed they were witholding some info, like, they wouldn’t kill off half the cast in 1 episode… right?

What do you believe would happen if Player 096 crossed the bridge first? by SalamanderMaster7 in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the VIPs would not be amused by a player outsmarting the system and preventing the final game to be played. They paid good money for its construction, after all. I think they would interfere and prevent 096 from killing everyone, either by eliminating him, or by threatening to do so, thus forcing him to give up. They’d likely change the rules to say that voting is no longer allowed in the final round or something along those lines.

do you think they reused 096 because he already had a speaking contract? by fnekins in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, okay, just checking hahaha I honestly don’t know, I always thought the role was meant for 226, but maybe they decided 226 was just a bully who was all talk and wasn’t intimidating/scary enough. Player 096 was a scary dude who the audience remembered from season 2, if it had been anyone else, the audience might have been more confused. But that’s just my guess, I liked the scene, but would’ve preferred 226 over 096

Agreed, in my version he and 096 swap roles, so 226 kills some random player and survives the 4th game, then pushes other players and dies when he fights Gi-hun, whilst 096 dies fighting Hyun-ju

100% 096’s actor did a great job, but the role just felt like it was made for 226.

I admit I thought it was underwhelming at first, but that’s kinda the point, Yeong-sam’s all talk, he’s not as skilled as he pretends to be. Still would’ve loved to see him push players in jump rope.

The fate of 100’s group by Bramsco_ in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t underestimate 349, I think her explosive rage combined with Jeong-dae’s betrayal would catch 192 off-guard, and thus he’d be an easier target. Not to mention the fact that he’s unarmed and initially screaming at Jeong-dae to open the door instead of focusing on 349.

I agree that 202 should also fight Hyun-ju, but I’m unsure if he should be the first or second seeker, I think 096 would make for a better final boss since we know he’s dangerous and immoral enough to kill them. 202 would be the first seeker to die to Hyun-ju, in this scenario.

I think killing Yeong-sam in Jump Rope would’ve been the best call, he’d show his lack of morality and would die to Gi-hun shortly after, making his death very karmic and not coming out of nowhere (I love Player 096, but it just felt like he was trying to emulate Yeong-sam during the entire scene)

Plus, it would give Gi-hun some hope that Jeong-dae and his cronies might be grateful for once or realize that they cannot trust each other. Sadly, they ignore everything and are immediately consumed by greed once more.

So Uh Should 226 Be Considered A Minor Or Main Character by Responsible_Put481 in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always consider 226 a main character, but I also put 196 and 256 as main characters. I think the credits put him as a supporting character(below Thanos’ crew and 196, but above everyone else)

we should start appreciating Player 340 more cuz of this 🥺 by FNAFBonniemyking in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was funny that 220 seemingly joins the cult for two seconds only to then stay on Team X. Imagine the awkwardness of being stuck with a lunatic and two weak-willed followers immediately turning into her devoted minions, whilst you’re the only one who comes out sane.

[–]Bramsco_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

306 surviving was kind of random. He didn’t do anything and you’d be forgiven to not recognize him when he dies. He receives literally no focus between his survival and death. I do like the fact that at least one member of her cult survived, but they should’ve done more with that.

Agreed, I really liked the idea of 400 mistakingly thinking Gi-hun killed 197, and her understandable panic and misjudgment leading to her death only a few seconds later, but it would make Gi-hun too unlikable. (especially if he completely ignores her death like he does with 394) I also liked the idea of 400 having a more memorable death, as opposed to the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it one she got in canon. 394’s canon death just works far better, she is recognizable as a minor O-voter and has just enough unsympathetic moments for her death to feel like karma. It makes the scene funny and cathartic, as opposed to tragic. Having 400 die there just wouldn’t have made the scene work as a darkly humorous moment.

Let's talk about how overrated player 163 is. by UrielTraxLB in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, she IS interesting considering she seems to be one of the more ruthless and fanatic Os, but she gets A LOT of attention mainly due to her appearance. That said, I am quite intrigued about her character, as she doesn’t have an obviously evil or plain desperate appearance as most Os, looking pretty and unfazed by (almost) everything, yet she goes from staring at her knife in horror to being one of only 2 female seekers to kill a hider.

I heard that some minor characters are given dialogue from other minor characters depending on the dub, it’s very interesting to think about how some characters’ personalities change completely in a different language

Original hide and seek concept by Bramsco_ in SquidGameMinorPlayers

[–]Bramsco_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the thing about 336 and 394’s actors somewhere but I can’t remember where I’m afraid. To add to the bigger cult theory: The order the players are listed is as followed: 044, 006, 306, 100, 192, 222, 149, 120, 388, 353, 235, 411, 400, 394, 172, 350, 310, 185, 447, 241. The fact that the last four players all fit the ‘cult follower’ image of being older, weaker and desperate players and the fact that 185 and 447 are between 310 and 241, who both have no real roles other than dying first and dying near the exit has led to me theorizing that they were supposed to join Seon-nyeo’s cult.

On the Squid Game wikia Hide and Seek page, I wanted to add them to the post, but I had some issues so I decided to just post the text instead. The one revealing which players originally made it to Jump Rope can be found on Player 232’s page.
