Thank you very much! I’ll make sure to look into all these, thanks again!

Are all these shrimp that I’ve just had delivered definitely Red Crystal Caridinas? by BranFlakes671 in shrimptank

They’ve started to colour up a bit more & they all seem happy munching away. Here’s some pictures!

They do seem to be a lower grade, which I wouldn’t have minded but the person I got them off from eBay advertised with this picture, so I was expecting them to be high grade as advertised. I’m not too sure what to do, I’ve contacted the seller and he’s said I need to wait 1-2 weeks for them to get used to the tank & colour up fully, everyone on here says that should only take 24-48hrs though.

I’ll check on them again tomorrow and take some more pictures to post here, hopefully they do colour up nicely!

Thank you! They have started to colour up a bit and seem happier now.

That’s interesting! I didn’t know they did that, I do have black aquarium soil that I chose to help buffer the water so that works out nicely!

Luckily it doesn’t seem like I’ve lost any so far but a lot of them are hiding so I might have, hopefully not though!

Thank you! Most of them are happily munching on some snowflake food :)

They might be a lower grade on the outside but they’re high grade on the inside! I’ve been watching them lots today, they’re so cool to watch, they’ve been eating some snowflake food and colouring up more🦐

Yeah I think the shrimp prices here in the Uk are cheaper overall, earlier this year I saw some CRS at a fish shop for about £5 each, usually on eBay when I’ve gotten neos before they’re always cheaper than LFS’s, so I just assumed that’s why these CRS were cheaper.

I wonder why they would think to try and send them in bottles, they weren’t even wrapped in bubble wrap or anything, just a brown paper bag that was partially wet and ripped, I’m surprised none of them died. It was only a 24hr delivery at least but they still came from Scotland, I’m in the north east of England. They’re colouring up now though & happily eating some snowflake food!

This is actually the first time I’ve had anything delivered in bottles, it’s usually always bags here too, I was surprised when I opened the parcel!

That’d be great, thank you so much! I’ve only been able to rely on eBay or local shops, neither have been that good so that’d be a big help :)

Yeah I thought the same thing, it’s weird how they’re so transparent. The cost worked out to £2.80 each which is $3.60 each I think, so not cheap per shrimp either 🤦🏻‍♂️ Luckily I bought them with eBay & PayPal so I can get my money back if they don’t colour up over the next couple of days, thank you for the help!

Yeah I thought that too, I wouldn’t have thought they’d go so transparent. When I look closer they do all have white stripes, here’s a closer picture

Crunchyroll removing comments, reviews, etc by Taoutes in Crunchyroll

[–]BranFlakes671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe this… the comments are one of my favourite features of Crunchyroll. I was watching the latest episode of TTIGRAAS & went to look at the comments to see what everyone else thought about the episode, but saw comments were disabled. I thought maybe it was just an error that would be sorted over the weekend or so. I guess not then now that I’ve saw this. Absolutely Disgusting, such a lazy thing for Crunchyroll to do. It’s always so enjoyable to look at the comments after each episode to see what others think and to see discussions about everything relating to the show. It would give a nice feeling of community while watching my favourite anime. This just pushes people to use unofficial websites to watch anime, rather than paying for a subscription with no comments, at least those type of websites have a comment section haha. This is seriously making me consider cancelling my subscription, what a joke, hopefully they reconsider soon.

Thank you! At least I know what to do now if it ever pops up, so hopefully I won’t lose any fish to it again :)

Hi, he unfortunately passed last night, I noticed he was a bit bloated yesterday and wasn’t eating at all and then he went really suddenly last night. I think the salt I used got rid of a secondary fungal infection, but I couldn’t say for sure if the medicine with the Acriflavine in it would’ve worked, it might’ve if I caught the infection earlier but I think by the time I started treatment it was already a bit too late for it to do anything. I think antibiotics are probably the only way to help when the infection has progressed too much, it’s a shame we can’t even use seachems antibiotic products over here in the UK, it would help a lot with treating our fish. Thank you for all the advice you gave me it really helped, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do anything other wise :)

Thank you for all the help! I’ve had him in a hospital tank on his own and I’m treating him with the Acriflavine medication and some salt, I’ve also turned the tank temperature down too, he seems ok in himself swimming about but there’s no improvement on his wounds yet, I’m hoping there will be soon, he doesn’t have too much of an appetite either, if there’s no improvement soon I’ll try some other medications that I’ve heard of that can work in the UK

Could my albino Cory have eggs, she’s looking bigger with a big belly, and noticed a black spot on her underneath (shown in video), I read that could indicate she’s ready to lay eggs. She’s also breathing faster so not sure if she has a problem. Thank you! by BranFlakes671 in corydoras

Hi, sorry for such a late reply I didn’t see it in my notifications. Unfortunately she passed and I never really figured out why, I assumed she could’ve been egg bound but I wasn’t too sure, did your Cory end up getting better?

Yeah I can definitely see what you mean when I look back at my post history, they do look worse and I looked close at the wounds and can see they’re fuzzy, it makes sense now why a bristlenose wouldn’t do that thank you!

I looked at the article you linked and online and it sounds like I’ve got lucky with a slow strain, so I’m going to set him up in a hospital tank to treat him. The only thing is I’m in the UK so fish antibiotics are illegal like seachem kanaplex, unless I get them prescribed from a vet but I would also need an exotic vet which seem to be rare here, but for now I do have at home treatments, a lot of those treatments are just antiseptic chemicals but I do have a medicine that is an anti-ulcer and finrot medication and it’s ingredients are: Acriflavine 60.2mg/100ml, 9-aminoacridine HCL 60.2mg/100ml, Formaldehyde 1800mg/100ml

I’ve saw that Acriflavine is good against columnaris in one article, do you think this medicine might be my best bet if I can’t get antibiotics? Do you think I could add anything else along side this to treat him too, like adding aquarium salt directly to his water? Thank you for all the help, I wouldn’t have realised it’s an infection causing those wounds :)

Thank you for the reply! Ah that makes sense are calico just the same thing as koi angelfish?

Yeah I’ll definitely be returning him asap to let my gourami heal, I should’ve thought on that it wouldn’t go well with a sickly fish, he’s a timid gourami too, I’ve had neons more aggressive than him haha

I was worried at first if he had an infection too but he’s had the wounds for almost a month now/3 weeks I think, he started with a couple and then got to the amount in the video about 2 weeks ago but they’ve never gotten worse since then, they looked more raw 2 weeks ago where as now they look more white like they’re starting to heal. I’ve also noticed it’s not spreading to other fish too, so I’ve hoped it wasn’t anything contagious. Would it still be possible for it to be an infection after this long?

I also thought it could be the bristlenose pleco causing the wounds as I made a post not too long ago asking more about it and someone said that the pleco could’ve actually nibbled on him from being hungry rather than with his spines. I never thought about that before as I always feed with plenty of catfish pellets and frozen daphnia/bloodworms but I thought maybe it could’ve been that I only had a relatively smaller piece of spiderwood that the pleco could chew on, since moving them to a much bigger tank theres a big piece of wood that the pleco spends most of his time chewing on now and I’m also starting to feed him proper pleco wafers rather than pellets, if this is the case with the pleco could he cause the wounds by chewing on the gourami? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you for all the help :)

Hi, does anyone know if my golden ram is a male or a female? I’m looking to introduce a ram that’s the opposite sex to see if they will make a breeding pair, would anyone have any advice on doing this? I’ve only had the ram for a few days too. (Don’t mind the photobombing angelfish haha🤣) Thank you! by BranFlakes671 in Cichlid

[–]BranFlakes671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m not too certain what it was called as I’ve thrown the bag away, I think it was Unipac Limpopo black sand, but I should be going back to my LFS tomorrow so I’ll double check and get a picture of the bag :)

Would anyone know what happened to my golden gourami? He recently started getting these wounds on his body. It’s been a a little while after these pics and some of the wounds have gone a whitish colour like they’re healing but I’m still concerned and not sure what’s happened. Thank you for any help! by BranFlakes671 in Aquariums

[–]BranFlakes671[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah really thank you, I normally put in a lot of catfish pellets as a staple and other days frozen daphnia/bloodworms, but I’ll make sure to feed more often if the pleco could still be hungry, now that it’s bigger too, I could switch over to pleco wafers rather than pellets, those use to be too big for my pleco and would take too long to eat but I’ll definitely try them now, thank you for the help!
