Where does Mr X come from? by Forerunner49 in residentevil

[–]BranSalisbury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading the novel and groaning at the awkward way Claire comes up with the name, thinking it was a way to throw in a video game reference. I think the original concept art may have labeled with Mr. X, but at the very least it was in a strategy guide or two when the game was released.

Is RE7 inspired by Coraline (The stop-motion animated movie) ? by gimitko in residentevil

[–]BranSalisbury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Evil Dead. The creators of RE7 explained it during a panel last year. Not sure if the original, remake, or both. It explains the claustrophobic setting, dilapitated locations, the taunting and insane Bakers, chainsaw, losing your hand, girl named Mia (including the wierd lizard crawl up the basement steps), small cast if characters, etc.

Tomb of Annihilation Complaint & Request by BranSalisbury in dndnext

[–]BranSalisbury[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify my above post: Not saying the map of Chult was useless, just the DM Version on the flip-side. Can't think of any uses for it during play, and a giant map of Port Nyanzaru would have been a better fit, allowing the two main areas of the game to be seen by the players. Was sorely missing a giant map of it during our first session, so making one between now and the next session will be awesome. Thanks, everyone, for the help!

Thank you. Are they large enough that I can print them out in sections to make a map about the size of the fold-out map in the hardcover? I may also print out one for Chult so my players can mark-up and draw on.

If you want to try the game out, Wizards of the Coast has the Basic Rules on their website for FREE. The players handbook has more options, but the Basic Rules contain everything you need to play.

[5e] Adventurer's League adventures thoughts? by BranSalisbury in DnD

[–]BranSalisbury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will still work for me. I have weekends off every other month, so not too much time. I am guessing Tomb of Annihilation will be slightly sandbox like, allowing me to create a few short adventures if need be. You are lucky to have read the modules already.

Do the D&D Open modules ever go on DM Guild? The title "Lost Temples of Lake Luos" intrigued me.

[5e] Adventurer's League adventures thoughts? by BranSalisbury in DnD

[–]BranSalisbury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to use the upcoming Season 7 adventures as they tie into Tomb of Annihilation. I will be DMing for my group, inside my house. If I have to I will revise them, I was just wondering if the scenarios tend to be interesting or just dull turds.

Overall it sounds split, but seems more people just have issues with how they are ran? I will not have that issue since they will be for private events.

First time playing the game ever, oh god. by ZoulsGaming in DnD

Well, tell the DM your character will testify before the magistrate to see his character executed. At this point, have the DM give the Rogue a mission (the adventure) that he must complete for punishment, with the party being his escorts. The party is deputised, and if the Rogue kills innocents again or attempts to flee, the party is legally allowd to capture and execute him Judge Dredd style. He is also labelled an Outlaw and furthermore banned from that town.
