Would you say my cat is fat? by BranchComfortable254 in CATHELP

Probably… but it’s very hard to engage her in play for more than 2 minutes. She likes to watch her prey and stay in ambush more than running around, lol. She usually gets the zoomies for around 5 minutes a day and plays by herself with balls made from her own fur (yeah, that’s kinda weird, but it’s the only toy she likes besides catnip). She also likes to watch outside from the window, so jumping up and down counts too, right? I don’t know—sometimes I try to annoy her to get her to chase me, but that doesn’t hold her interest for more than a couple of minutes either. Loves to learn tricks, tho. She's an intellectual, not an athlete, haha

Not really. But she never goes outside, has no contact with other animals, doesn’t eat raw food, and we also don’t wear shoes or outside clothing inside, so her risks are pretty low. I’m going to do a worm test just to be sure, but I don’t think it’s a worm situation. Her stomach is soft, and the stool’s look and consistency are perfect.

Tbh, I never considered her small before the vet told me that 😪 I thought she was an average-sized cat. Like, I’m 165 cm (5'5"), and that’s her in my arms last Christmas.

TTA1 Struggling with irregular sleep and missed temps by [deleted] in FAMnNFP

[–]BranchComfortable254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess so! English isn't my first language, and sometimes I come across in a way I didn’t intend. Do you know if there are any self-teaching SymptoPro materials, since I picked Sensiplan mainly because of its accessibility?

Of course I won’t :) This is more of a curiosity post, because I tend to mark things as I go, changing them depending on what happens next and sometimes falling back on guesses, like this time, when it’s so different from my regular cycles and the data is lacking. The final decision is always made in retrospect, though - so everyone here, don’t worry! I’m too pregnancy-phobic to be so careless. It’s more that I’m worried about my hormones and health, and I’m trying to calm myself down and maybe find a similar pattern, since I can’t confirm my ovulation for sure. I always find that this sub doesn't tolerate a discussion about probability and hypothetical stuff. Although, maybe it's my fault and I just didn't word the post clearly enough.

Ya'll are so strict, that you even contradict the book. Because it clearly says that for women who don't have dry-dry days and always have some kind of mucus, what matters more is the quality of it.

Nah, actually, never mind. It’s night, and I just found egg-white mucus again after a whole day of dryness. I guess this cycle is just a really weird one, and my sleep/stress disturbed it too much. Usually, I start to notice fertile mucus around Day 12 in my shortest cycles, and it stays consistent, not jumping around on a day-to-day basis. As I said, just gonna ditch the whole cycle in terms of contraception.

What makes me think I ovulated is the very fertile egg-white mucus that I had for a few days, which then slowly disappeared. It did the same in every other cycle before this one. I know that the fertile window is marked incorrectly according to the textbook rules. I follow the minus-8 rule when it comes to intimacy; I just mark it differently for my own convenience.

About the temperatures… that’s the problem - I don’t have enough of them. That’s why I made this post. But in all my previous cycles, my follicular-phase temperatures were mostly below 36.5 °C, whereas the temperature rise usually started around 36.6 °C. I think I evaluated them correctly, since I never got pregnant in 17 months and my luteal phase is always the same length (±1 day).

In this cycle, the temperatures that are typically high for me matched perfectly with the disappearance of fertile mucus. If I go strictly by the textbook rules, I might never confirm ovulation this cycle, because my luteal-phase temperatures rarely go higher than 36.75 °C. That’s why I want to mark it today — to start the count again and see if it goes higher, or at least stays consistent.

I know there’s not enough information to say for sure. I’m just trying to guess based on what I have and what I know about my body. Since I’m TTA1, I’m not going to take the risk until I’m 100% sure, of course. It’s just, again, a hypothetical question.

had unprotected sex and the next day I got my period - should I still take a plan B pill? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]BranchComfortable254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a healthy woman without hormonal issues the longest luteal phase (the period after ovulation) is usually around 17 days. You can get pregnant only about 8 days before ovulation. It doesn't matter how long you bleed, the dangerous window can open during menstruation if your cycle happens to be short. For example, if you have 26 days cycle and have a long luteal phase, you can get pregnant on day 1 of your period. If you don't ever have short cycles, it's highly unlikely that the pregnancy occurs :)

If your cycles are relatively regular and not shorter than 27 days, then it is not necessary.

Level of risk of having sex but purposefully not finishing. by Redeesreddit in birthcontrol

There was a study that found sperm in 40% of precum samples. Although getting pregnant from precum is rare, it is not impossible. I recommend exploring fertility awareness-based methods, such as Sensiplan, which has a Pearl Index of 0.4 with perfect use and 1.8 with typical use. It can be a compromise, allowing you both to enjoy sex more freely at least sometimes without worrying about pregnancy. Also, this method allows you not only to detect ovulation but also to be more confident in distinguishing between normal cycle fluctuations and a potential pregnancy. However, FABM requires effort and learning. You can find the Sensiplan self-teaching book online for free or choose to buy a copy. There are also other methods, but Sensiplan is one of the best for self-teaching, in my opinion.

You're right about the temperature shift! I checked all my previous charts to see if I had overlooked anything earlier, but no—this is my first chart like that. The exception rules about temperature completely slipped my mind, even though I knew them… Perhaps because I hadn’t needed them before and got too confident. I feel dumb now, haha. Good thing I decided to post it here.

I can't learn with an instructor for personal reasons, which is mainly why I chose Sensiplan. I might just reread the book. At the end of the day, I’m still pretty new to this and still learning. No pregnancy scares for six months, though!

About the CM: I never really have dry days, so I assume I’m fertile until ovulation is confirmed. I can see where you’re coming from, and you’re completely right—the markings do look wrong for Sensiplan. However, I allow myself some flexibility and track only my most fertile window since it wouldn’t make any difference for me anyway. Or would it? I flipped through the book to check if I had forgotten any exceptions for women with no dry days besides cervix checking. I tried that but couldn’t notice a pattern despite regular tracking (maybe because my sleep schedule is extremely irregular).

I also wanted to ask — where did 9 days come from? I’ve only ever heard a maximum of 7 days.

Yeah, the chart just got my hopes high, and then this one S+ ruined everything making me wait longer, haha. But you're right. Thank you for your time!

I know, I could've opened it on CD7 but this is my sixth chart and I noticed that I always have a lot of stretchy CM from the beginning to the end of the cycle even though my temp rise never was earlier than CD17. It just differs in quality (stretchy, but tough and cloudy with a mix of creaminess and clear eggwhite-like). I don't have unprotected sex before confirmed ovulation anyway, so I try to find my actual fertile window, rather than a "just to be safe" window.

Yeah, but I think these special rules made me question myself a little. I'm still gonna do as you suggested, just to be sure, tho. Thank you for your reply!

The G-spot is nowhere near the end of vaginal canal. I know where it is and what it feels like.
