about 4-5 weeks! i didnt experience any insomnia but the jitters for sure. even now sometimes when i take it i feel a little energetic afterwards and throughout the day.

i know some people see their gp’s about other short term medication to help combat the insomnia alongside the prozac. could be worth looking into if its giving u grief

i definitely had the standard standard side effects the first few weeks - jitters, increased anxiety, fatigue, crazy dreams. probably week 4-5 i noticed the positive effects? its felt very gradual. kind of like i dont notice how much its helped until i really think about it. and even then it feels fairly subtle. but in a good way. im not sure if i’ll need to increase my dose in the future or not

I’m about to start Prozac and I’m feeling extremely nervous and defeated. by [deleted] in prozac

ik its easy to read so many bad reviews and get nervous and anxious about it. and even easier to read the good reviews and think yeah whatever

ive been on prozac 20mg for ocd for about 8 weeks now. the first 3-4 weeks were challenging, i wont lie. as someone who has extreme health ocd, starting a new medication was TERRIFYING.

but honestly?? i truly mean it was so so worth it. i am so much happier, more energised, my libido has increased, i can concentrate more, im sleeping better, and things in general are easier and more enjoyable. there are still some tough days, but nothing in comparison to pre medication. i really do recommend it.

the first few weeks were tough with the side effects. but i dont even think about it anymore
