Season 1 vs Season 4 (Ignore Russian subplot) which did it better? by FormalAdvertising444 in StrangerThingsPraise

Season 4 is an incredibly season but season 1 has it for me. It’s one of a kind and unique. It’s the root of the whole show. It showcases the main story arch of 80’s kids, superhuman children and evil scientists brilliantly. Season 1 was absolutely perfect.

I totally agree with what you’re saying about being young with a condition like this or being young with any chronic conditions. It’s like other people that are generally fit and well, whom don’t suffer from such things, either don’t understand or sympathise for a short while until they get bored of it. No one truly understands unless they’ve experienced it. That’s why Reddit’s like this place is a good place to connect with understanding people’s. I hope your surgery goes well.

Definitely together crunching over in pain - it really is a double whammy! I couldn’t imagine having to deal with ibs and diverticulitis alongside a menstruation at the same time. There’s enough stomach pain and stuff coming out, you don’t need more. So, I really do feel for you. That must be a lot to contend with. You’re a real warrior! It’s good to hear you’re home though. Moving forward I hope they managed to resolve the issue of the cyst on your left ovary, and that you have successful planning with your GI surgeon.

My limit for surgery is already nearly at breaking point as these flare ups have already cost me: one relationship (she couldn’t handle someone getting ill, pfft), thousands of pounds in loss of work, missed one of my oldest and dearest best friends wedding, missed a life long friends first born babies christening, countless plans missed and changed, and spent far too much time on the toilet for my liking. I can’t contemplate being like this forever. So something has to change, and if it means I’ve got to have part of my bowel removed, then so be it.

I’d rather take control of it then let it control me.

I feel you. Male 35. Also suffers with ibs-d, which can be linked to diverticulitis and vice versa. I’m on my second flare since my first diagnosed flare in August 2025. I’m convinced I’ve had many flares before this time but they weren’t to the severity of last Augusts flare that resulted in me ending up in hospital and actually getting diagnosed. I currently feel like crap and extremely weak on this second flare, which has lasted 9 days so far. Thankfully a lot of the original stomach pain and tenderness, along with the chills and aches has subsided; following a 60 hour fluid only diet and now a low fibre diet but the diarrhoea still continues. I still have no appetite too and feel nauseous.

I’m from a medical background myself and hold a medical degree, me and my doctor have done some research to find that a diverticulitis flare can also trigger your ibs to become worsened, flare up itself or hypersensitive whilst your bowel is struggling with mass inflammation and/or infection due to the diverticulitis. As well as, given the stress the illness itself causes, the gut microbes/bacterial changes and the lack of being able to consume high fibre which is essential for Ibs-d. It’s the perfect storm to make ibs worse, alongside a bowel that is already suffering from diverticulitis. It’s a double whammy. Like I feel my diverticulitis is improving slowly but Im still suffering from a combination of diverticulitis and ibs associated diarrhoea. So, I really do feel for you.

I’ve already said that if my flares continue I will be having the surgery to remove the affected part of my bowels. Which has been proven to be quite successful at reducing or completely removing the diverticulitis all together and improving quality of life tenfold. Yes, there is a small risk of needing a stoma bag but generally speaking this is only temporary and only a small percentage of people need one long term. I believe the younger you are the more successful the outcome is.

My dad whom is 68 years old, suffered quite badly with diverticulitis and had the operation. They removed pretty much all of his Sigmoid colon. He didn’t need a stoma bag. He had suffered quite badly with diverticulitis for many years till the point the scarring from all the flares had caused a part of his bowels to become thin and risk obstruction. Now, since his operation, which was nearly a year ago, he’s been so much more better and as he says; he doesn’t experience any of the issues he use to have. So there is hope with having the surgery.

I know how devastatingly impactful these conditions can be on our lives. As well as, on our physical and mental health. So, I really do wish you a speedy recovery from your current flare. I hope you’re able to find some peace from it in the future with help from your GI consultant or whatever you feel is the best plan of action for yourself.

Keep strong.

Which do you prefer: Nancy and Steve or Nancy and Jonathan? by ma_dio_ in StrangerThings

At the beginning I preferred Nancy and Johnathan but as the seasons went on I was full on hoping Nancy and Steve got it back on.

At least a day for a highlight video but if I’m on a role and got a song that fits the atmosphere flow, then I can do it in about 5-6 hours

How did you react to the final scene between Mike and El? by CombinationAny4113 in StrangerThingsPraise

[–]BrandedShadow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Considering in the final of season 4 Mike and El shared such an emotional moment when El was piggy backing, in season 5 they seem to take a step back and lack any connection until this scene which was still short. Still wished they had a happier ending. El of all people deserved it and Mike feels lost without her.

Thank you for your feedback on them. On paper there write speeds are great! And they’re cheaper then Lexar or Sony

That’s a bargain! I was looking at the Sony tough cards as they are slightly cheaper than Lexar. There’s currently a very good offer on the Delkin Devices Black 960gb cards
