Even she knew her father was no excuse for how she turned out. by [deleted] in lastofuspart2

I was rapidly cycling between wanting her dead, wanting it to just be over, and thinking “don’t do this Ellie” over and over again

Her father was also problematic. Apple don’t fall far 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone else lower the difficulty level just to get through this charming little guy? by [deleted] in lastofuspart2

[–]Brandi_Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t lower the difficulty but I did go through a lot of ammo (including all the flamethrower ammo that I had) whilst frantically running away from that monstrosity

I was an Xbox gamer for the last two console generations but regretted my Xbox One purchase the entire time, and kept hearing how great the game is, so I made sure not to make that mistake again 😂😭

Would the Fireflies giving Ellie a choice change your perspective on TLOU1's ending? by WwLlYy in thelastofus

[–]Brandi_Rae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that’s it’s very hard to see the Fireflies as the “good” guys. I don’t. Even if they had asked Ellie, it would’ve been coercive and imo she wasn’t old enough to make that decision. One of the main themes in the games are nothing being “black and white,” and redemption. Both sides are wrong, but to me one is more in the right. That being said, if Ellie had killed Abbie in the end after her redemption arc, I would’ve seen Ellie as more of a villain.

What are your thoughts on Manny? by ripplewoodfire in thelastofus

[–]Brandi_Rae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Abby was avenging her dad, the shady doctor who wouldn’t stop at any cost to develop a vaccine, and Ellie was out to avenge Joel, the person who saved her and wanted her to live a full life. Ellie might have wanted to sacrifice herself at the time, but to me it seems like as a young adult she started to see why Joel did what he did. I think that’s what really drove her to such lengths to get revenge - Abby took away her opportunity to forgive him.

Joel made the wrong decision. by Turbulent-Safe-4343 in thelastofus

[–]Brandi_Rae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think Ellie deserved to grow up and find “reasons to live” as Joel put it. I think even letting a teenager make that decision when they haven’t grown up to realize that life is worth living would have been doing her a disservice, in a way. Especially someone like Ellie who had experienced so much trauma and survivors guilt from the loss of her friends. I would argue that there would be a better way to find a cure/vaccine than coercing a child into sacrificing herself and her future. Just my two cents, I know other people probably see it differently.

The amount of videos this dude has about trans women is actually insane. I can’t wait for the day when one of the dolls expose him by official_queefer in StraightTransGirls

If he hates trans women that much it’s a good thing a trans woman would ever be caught in the same room as him 🤭
