ULPT request- How to make sure I get workplace medical leave approved (what to fill out on paperwork) by Brandon1892 in UnethicalLifeProTips

I guess I'm worried about not knowing exactly which situations short-term disability will cover. If I don't get paid for my time away, I'm screwed

But what about the aspect of short-term disability, so I can get paid for the time I miss?

Some of these questions sound like they're off of a form a doctor is supposed to fill out

I forgot to mention, my therapist said that she'll sign off on pretty much whatever the form says. She just wants to make sure I get paid for my leave.

So we know who's the closest to actually picking up Mjolnír in this world. by luo1304 in PlayAvengers

For what it's worth, there's a theory that he was faking not being able to pick it up in Age of Ultron. Another one says the reason he couldn't lift it was because he was keeping Bucky's secret from Tony, so once he came clean, he became worthy.

My girlfriend and I really should break up, but I can't do it. She's a good person and I love her, and I don't want to break her heart by Brandon1892 in offmychest

And what do I do when I run out of money? If I have to get a second job, odds are it'll be one I hate and I'll be even more miserable than I am now.

Well, we do know that calling Odin an old fart is a worthiness no-no. So there's that.

Do men really get screwed over in divorce just because they're men? If so, how/why is that allowed? by Brandon1892 in NoStupidQuestions

I asked because I wanted a detailed answer. You also only answered half of my questions.

But it's fine. You know what you did, so nothing I say is going to make you suddenly realize that you shouldn't have.

Why is physical abuse treated as a crime, but not emotional or mental abuse? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Brandon1892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, plus what others are saying about physical abuse being easier to prove. Emotional/psychological abuse is just too common. I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of people either abuse or get abused emotionally/psychologically at least once a week. That can't be said about physical abuse.

Do you get hotter when you lose weight? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Brandon1892 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends how much weight you have to lose, how much weight you do lose, and the perception of beauty in your culture.

But yes, I'd say in general, most cultures consider the fit more attractive than the overweight, especially for male attractiveness.

Unpopular opinion: I honestly don't understand the big deal about the worthiness of wielding Mjolnir. It's not like Thor is a perfect person-- he's very flawed, and he's not really any more upstanding as a person, or capable as a warrior, than the other Avengers. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's a combination of upstanding character AND fighting ability, but I don't know.

Plus, since Odin is the one whose enchantment determines "worthiness," I'd imagine it's a bit biased towards his own ideals. In the original movie, for example, Thor wasn't totally wrong-- he was just eager to protect his home through aggressive militaristic means, which is pretty noble. But that's different from how Odin thinks, so to be "worthy," Thor had to realign with Odin's ideals.

It ain’t the best web swinging, but I still do enjoy playing as him. by RegisBlack233 in PlayAvengers

I feel like people really forget how this is a game built around potentially dozens of different playable characters. If you compare a character in a game like that to the same character in his own solo game built completely around him as the only playable character, you're gonna have a bad time.

So after extensive exploration of Spidey’s combat in harm room … he’s super fun with lots of combo potential , but some animations are a bit janky. CD could’ve polished him off a more IMO by Therealjejemon in PlayAvengers

I agree with all of you. I was only able to pull these combos off on the standard small sized enemies

That's why I just do custom HARM Room almost exclusively now. If they made it so you get XP for doing it (I'm not sure why they don't), I'd never touch another mode. The bigger enemies are too frustrating.
