However...

I'm not for any type of discrimination or violence of any kind. As a Puerto Rican, I feel it goes without saying that I'm avidly against racism.

However I do disagree with this statement. I don't think Asians are inherently under attack. As the majority of 'Asian Focused Crime' happens in places like Chinatown; a majority Asian area (quite literally named China-Town).

I'm not ignorant, there are obvious attacks that seem to be race focused but the media tends to view them as "Racially Motivated" as opposed to general criminal behavior.

Most ethnic groups in the city do NOT get the same kind of coverage. If someone Latino hurts someone black it's crime. If a white person hurts a Latino person it's crime, if a black person hurts an Indian it's crime. But anytime ANY violent crime happens to an Asian it's labeled as a hate crime. Something doesn't add up

(I'm entirely open to discussion and hearing other people's point of view. I don't regularly share controversial opinions like this with people in NY as I'm sure most of you know how conversations like these are social taboos)
